Editor’s note: It can be hard to detect which Grisette you’ve had as the label doesn’t indicate if it’s spiced or citrusy. This edition has an addition of citrus peel, and less wheat than the regular edition. The label artwork is blue/purple.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Borough Wines. Pours clear yellow, effervescent, with a large, frothy white head. Pale and lightly biscuity malts I the nose, some dough, orange merengue, lemon rind. Light sweet flavor with dry dough, straw, mellow citrus rind. Ligh bodied with average to lively carbonation. Finishes very clean and balanced with further dried and lightly doughy pale malts, suggestions of citrus fruits, straw. Delicious beer. Effortless to drink this one.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2013 Bottle from Borough Wines [Wilton Way]. Pours hazy yellow with a big, fluffy white head which sits around for the length of the beer. Damn fine looking stuff. Nose is subtle spice, lemon rind, dough, coriander, touch of pepper and orange. Complex and refreshing in both smell and taste. Taste is heavy lemon and zest with subtle spices up front. Lemon cake in there on the finish. Quite peppery and zesty. Damn easy drinking. On the carbonated side of things but works for the drinkability of the beer. Bitterness right on the finish and quite lengthy. Holy crap this is good shit! My rating is probably a little higher than normal considering it’s about 30 degrees today and this is a perfect hot weather beer

33cl bottle from the brewery. It pours a slightly hazy golden colour with 1 finger of white soapy head. Aroma is fresh and hoppy, quite zesty with notes of agrumes. Taste is similarly light bitter with some floral hops and grass, some yeasts and bread, little in the way of funk. Overall, extremely tasty and refreshing.
