Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color and with a small, dense, white head. The aroma is faintly funky, with some pepper and coriander, as well as pine cones and resin. Lemon peel. It’s quite soft on the palate, medium bodied and dry, with lemon peel, coriander and pepper notes. Resins and pine cones, some bitterness and a funky hint. Dry and peppery finish. Wonder why this has gotten so low scores. It’s not fantastic in any way, but tasteful and quenching it sure is. 140717

33cl bottle bb30/07/2014, kindly catered to my unspoken cellar needs and saison prefs by Idiosynkrasie. Some of that typical UK/US clinical interpretation of "funk/barnyard" in the nose. Faintly metallic, with a whiff of female armpit after a brief run or minor domestic quibble in the aroma making an unfortunate outspoken reentry in flavour, accompanied by unripe green cantelope and gooseberry, old lime peel. Cleansing, if metallic, near-dry palate. This is not stellar, quite thin, but I enjoyed the full bottle nevertheless as a sucker for all things grisette and saison + fair moderate use of coriander and Columbus. Certainly less off the stylistic mark as the foreign market exploitative resurrection of the near-extinct grisette, the mining man’s saison, by Affligem/De Smet, aka Heineken. Bonus points for historically authentic low abv - you could put a 1L bottle of this in your overall and descend into the mines, mates.

Yellow body, white head. Aroma has loght maltiness, some pisss and cucumber, coriander, clove. Flavour is wet wheaty malt with some dull spicy notes. Not good one. Watery.
