3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Mill Road, Cambridge. Golden and cloudy with a big impressive white head. Lots of sediment in the bottle. Citrus, grass, cough drop and Angostura bitters in the aroma. Taste works much better, a crisp tartness defined by a bittersweet chalky grassiness. Short finish. Heavily carbonated palette. Manages to taste more alcoholic than it actually is. I like this and would certainly have it again.

330 ml bottle - Pale faint golden yellow appearance with a strong constant carbonation. Tangy with aromas of lemongrass and thyme. Smooth taste which leaves very little palate.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It reminds me more of a witbier then a saison. All about soap and yeasty dough. The lemon and thyme aromas are there but nothing extraordinary. Strong carbonation. I don’t like wits and this one is the worst I had.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Huge snowwhite, quite dense head over hazy lemonjuice-coloured beer. Thyme is traceable in the nose, immediately upon opening, but much harder to find later. Bit of citrus, and lactic wheat. Mildly citrussy and grainy, but a powerful dose of thyme arrives immediately retronasal, as if eating pizza or focaccia. Again, it proves volatile, as in the nose, doesn’t keep hanging around, and only the lemony citrus remains. Not much acidity, however. Well-carbonated, light body. This is a decent one.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Fresh soapy lemon aroma, pours a lovely clear pale gold, caught all the sediment before it escaped! Soft palate, with a little earthy yeastiness in the flavour. More light lemon notes, refreshing, light and tasty, a little funky in the finish.
