Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks tomer. Black with a brown head. Pleasant heavily roasted aroma with coffee. Pleasant bittersweet flavor, roasty, with lots of coffee and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. Very good.

330ml bottle. Pours very dark brownish black with very firm dark head. The head kept growing and growing. Poured it very carefully. Anyway, nice aroma of coffee, malts, chocolate, molasses and a licorice. Taste is decent. Very full mouth feel. Texture is like like tar. Had to chew it. Loads of molasses. Decent.

Beese (2560) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 27, 2014
Bottle at Cask, London on 13 April 2013. Poured a thick, pitch black colour with a large, dense tan head. Huge, rich aroma of roasted malt, bitter dark chocolate and some liquorice. Wonderful, full creamy mouth feel. Full bodied flavours of bitter coffee, dense fruit cake and dark fruit. Finish was wonderful espresso bitterness mixed with bitter burnt malt, balanced perfectly with black syrup. Wonderful beer.

330 ml bottle from Ales By Mail, served in a snifter. Bottled on 25-04-2013. Like pouring motor oil, thick, very dark, looks pitch black in the glass with absolutely no light passing through. Wonderfull dark brown fluffy head, good lacing. Not the most powerful and "in your face" aroma, but very complex and subtle, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, a huge amount of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, plus a hint of dark fruits (think berries). Perfectly balanced in the mouth, with a slight coffee and roasty bitterness that counteract a chocolaty, almost milky sweetness. A light ashy/smoky sensation on the tongue as well. The body is velvety full, with a oily texture that coats the lips, and a soft and gentle carbonation. No trace of the alchool at all, ridiculously well hidden. A damn well crafted foreign stout, nothing more to add!

OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2013
0.33 l bottle. Pours the darkest brown body, under a low lasting latte head. Aroma of well roasted dark malts, leaving whiffs of burnt caramel, licorice, soot and black chocolate. Near full body, smooth mouthfeel. Heavily roasted malt flavor. Not very sweet, with tones of peppery chocolate, licorice and soot/ash. Both malt- and hop-bitterness linger in a lasting finish. Potent stuff, good drinkabilty.
