330ml bottle. Darkest brown shade with a light brown head. Powerful roasty aroma neutralised with something like a vanilla lightness. Taste opens with sweet milk chocolate notes before harsher roasted malt takes over. Finishes a bit dry. Very tasty and evidently well worked.

Bottle 33cl from Jan thanks ! A dark beer with medium off white head. Nose is on dark chocolate and dark coffee. Aroma is on the same with creamy body, light metallic touch, rich roasted body, slightly acrid at the finish with hay hops, alcohol is well hidden, a nice one.

Bottle @home, pours as black as can be with a thick oil slick head. Sweet like a cake mixture in the bowl with dried fruits carrying the day, bitter on the finish, a very nice beer. Brentford vs Leyton Orient tasting with McneillR

Dark brown with odd whips of yeast, coffee brown head which precipitated interestingly on swirl. Straightforward dark malty, airy cocoa. Fat, thick initial mouthfeel - rich slowcooked malt, seeping coffee. Capable, resilient richness - very thick finish.

12 ounce bottle
Thanks to leaparsons for giving me this excellent bottle. Another fantastic London brewery, this is the sort of thing that would have me ignoring other countries in favor of just drinking locally. If all English beers were this good I could see more of them moving on the shelves of American shops.

Aroma / Appearance - An oily black base pours like syrup into the glass. Thick creamy head crawls down the side like sheets of melting chocolate. Hazelnut, coffee, and licorice are a rich blend. Smoky chocolate hangs in the air. For the style this is perfect.

Flavor / Palate - Creamy and chewy chocolate sweeps across the tongue in waves. Each sip is a blend of coffee, bitter chocolate, and espresso beans. The thick finish coats the mouth but lacks the massive booziness of a big huge stout. This is a perfect way to finish up travels around Europe.

33 cl bottle @ home. Bottled 12.03.2013, BBE 12.03.2016
Aroma is sweetish with cocoa notes and coffee. Flavour has salty licorice, soy sauce, herbal notes, coffee, tobacco and ash. Finishes with more herbs that turn into lingering bitterness. Rather good for a foreign stout.

Bottle. Black with a small head. Medium body, malty and slightly roasted. Very nice but lacking complexity. Easy to drink and well bottled.
