Pitch black colour with a tiny dark tan head.

Very roasted malty flavour with coffee. There’s no hoppiness in the flavour. Very dark and roasted. Too roasted for me.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled, 330ml from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Black with tan head. What a wonderful aroma on opening, rich dark chocolate and roasty malts. Sleek pour, quite big on the palate with coffee husk and liquorice, very darkly roasted malt. A bobby dazzler.

Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish chocolatey spicy wooden aftertaste with roasted rice and grain notes. Lovely, delicate, vivid, highly drinkable. 330ml bottle - shared by VastActiv - thanks!
Very nice smooth soft coffee aroma. A bit messy in the taste. Sticky and mashy. Too burnt. Nice espresso finish, though. One dimensional, and as such quite uninteresting. Some ashiness later.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black beer with medium off white head. Aroma of chocolate and a touch of lactose. Taste is burnt ash, chocolate, some dark fruits and some earth. medium bodied and a touch oily. I felt the burnt taste was too overpowering. I was a bit disappointed in this one. It was good but I was expecting a lot more.
