Tried this after visiting the new Quilmes DC in Mercado Central, where they distribute all the InBev brands (including *locally* produced Stella Artois and all Pepsi products). Best beer from Quilmes, caramel aroma but not overwhelming sweetness, excellent appearance with a nice dark copper color, watery, but full bodied compared to other Argentinan beers. Refreshing. Some hop flavor but no hop aroma. Best beer available in Bs Aires, for what it’s worth.

740ml Bottle: Aroma of malt, grain, corn, mash, and a hint of caramel. Poured amber in color with a small, white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Slightly cloudy. Sparkling. Some medium-sized particles throughout. Flavor is slightly sweet. Tastes of malt, mash, and corn. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, corn, mash finish is lightly sweet.

Sampled in El Calafate. A decent brew. About what I came to expect from all beers down there. Good taste though, but not too much bite.

the best commercial beer from Quilmes, it has a nice appearance, a little bit watery, but refreshing. Drank it while eating fondue, it was very fine; have to try it again.

I swear Quilmes just put a different label on their Red variety and jacked up the price a little - if this is an amber, it’s fairly trashy. For a lager, its passable.

Poured from a large bottle I purchased while living in Argentina into a small wine-type glass to drink. The beer had a pretty clear, medium-dark, amber-gold color with a small creamy off-white head that had short retention and modest cling. The beer had a muted aroma of caramel malt, barley, and some grainy hops, but nothing stood out too well. Its taste was somewhat sweet and malty with a caramel presence, and a slight complimentary bitter-grain effect too. The body had light to average carbonation with a thinner, watery feel, and a somewhat dry effect. Overall a satisfactory beer, but not highly successful.
