2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
740cm (cubed) bottle in Mendoza, Argentina. Cost about US$5 at the Hipermarcado Carrefour. Color is golden, darker than most Argentinian lagers. Fizzy head that rapidly thins out and beads around the edge of the glass. Smells of yeast that mellows as you drink it. Tastes like a lager and has some bitterness, again more than the typical Argentine lager. I wouldn’t bother holding this up to a Pilsner Urquell or the like. Has the flavor of an inexpensive continental pils. Medium bodied for its origin, quite fizzy, and it has a slight bitter/yeasty finish. All in all, I can see why some of the locals recommended this as head and shoulders above what is less expensive and more widely available. This beer is about 3 to 4 times more expensive than the more popular large format beers.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled sample brought back from Argentina by a friend. Pale gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of grainy pilsner malt and a bit of lemon-lime hoppiness. Flavours are of slightly caramelly (decocted) pilsner malt, along with some faint grassy hops. Medium bodied with a moderately bitter finish. A bit on the bland side, but fairly clean. Definitely more intense than Stella, Becks, or other such European animals, but in that same ballpark.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Found this newly released beer in a supermarket in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The beer has a rich aroma featuring some fruity scents including lemon and a slight floral presence, with some grain and caramel malt as well. It was a clear, fairly light gold in color, with a very small white head that had little retention and only a small amount of cling on the edges. Its taste was a bit fruity and grainy, with a bitter effect that also mixed with some subtle sweetness. The body of the beer had low amounts of carbonation, with a thin to medium mouthfeel, and was mostly dry. Not a bad beer, and the best of the few I have tried so far in Argentina, but still behind its global competition.
