33 cl. bottle @ Kulminator // dark brown with a hint of black & creamy off-white / beige head // smells like creamy sweet malts & dark fruits, brown sugar, nuts, hint of liquorish // taste is hint of caramel, creamy sweet malts, dark fruits, liquorish, caramel, sweet, brown sugar, creamy nuts, hazel, dash sweeter spices in the finish, soft bread // body is creamy with mellow carb. // the rating may not be ecstatic but I think that this is really, really good one within the style

I don’t know why the relatively low ratings for this, it’s a damn good brown ale and not all that far below the Rochefort 8 that I just had.

Served with a fine creamy off white to light tan head and lots of good lace. Very dark almost opaque walnut color. Aroma wasn’t to impressive, just good and malty. Flavor is malty, roasty, slightly tart, a hint of cocoa and excellent! Killer body and the carbonation is perfect for this beer. Tiny bit chewy. No hint of alcohol. easy finish. Really drinkable. Session

Nice doughy, espresso, toasted aroma, some molasses and caramel; not much carbonation or lacing on mine, plenty of sedimentation; medium bodied, delicious coffee, malt, toffee, light-porterish-Belgian flavor, slightly sour and acidic; outstanding! This one deserves a higher average rating, for sure.

335 ml from Belgian Shop. From the onset, an underrated Belgian, not much of a lasting head bt straight brown colour, aroma has licorice, fruit, sweeet malt and lots of yummy sweet yeast. Medium plus mouthfeel, like a milkshake, a bit aggressive carbonation as its fresh. Satisfying.
