COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For Pater Lieven Wit, wheat and oats are used during the brewing process, which give the beer its pale color and cloudy appearance. Pater Lieven Wit is unfiltered. Therefore, it remains cloudy and contains living yeast cells. It is flavored with coriander and orange peel, which provide pleasant fruity and thirst-quenching characters.

Botella. Bottle. Tulip glass. Enjoye don agt´11.Pale straw color. Foggy. White, small sized bubbled, dense crown. Retention is good. Yeast & fresh citric, vanilla notes, bready crust hues & spices to the nose. Funny orange zest upfront. Sweet & peppery.Lemony in the middle. Medium body, medium carbonation. Melon touch & dry bitter finish. Orange hint & fruity aftertaste. Refreshing. Nice spot of the Wit style. Well balanced both flavors & aromas.Comment: last drop served with yeast sediments will show an intense orange flavor.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2014 Lovely frothy medium sized white head, fading after a while. Nearly opaque pear yellow colour. Noses of floral hops, bit hay, herbs and some faint fruit. On the palate a lively, tangy/lively texture offers a medium body with a light sweetness and some bitterness showing flavours of grass, hops, malt and herbs with coriander sticking out of that bunch. The finish is a little bit dry and well balanced.

Bottle, 75cl at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. It pours a yellowish golden, hazy body, topped by a nice white head. Fruity and spiced aroma, with some pale malt blending in. Really pleasant. The flavor was even more inviting, with the same fruit and spice found in the aroma, as well as a citrusy flavor. Malty as well. Medium full mouthfeel and a citrusy finish. Easy to drink, refreshing and just lovely. (080410)

Wow this beer came out strong, that beer was still alive and kicking, lots of foam. Pours a hazy amber with a huge white head that did not stay long. Aroma of citrus fruits and malts. Flavors is hoppy with lots of citrus with lemons and some peach. Some yeast and spices. Lots of carbonation and with a creamy texture in mouth. Lost of complex nice flavors and refreshing, easy and nice to drink.

Hazy yellow with fluffy head. Specific spicy witbier aroma. Taste is very balanced, a bit sweet and fruity at the start and a bit of bitterness in the end. Aftertaste lingers with spicy and wheat flavors. Carbonation is quite high. Overall this is a good example for the style.

330ml bottle bought at ICBeer in Kwun Tong.

Looks: Clear light blonde with a thin crust of yeastsediments; Explosive two and a half finger head with long lasting crumpety white foam; Excellent sticky lacing with active slight carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant fair malt, with strong wheaty tartness, banana, strong orange peels, strong coriander, floral, strong cinnamon, spices, strong Bel yeast, strong lemon and grass.

Taste: Close to medium sweet light malt, with strong wheat, fair tartness, very strong orange peels, strong coriander, light floral, molasses, spices, light bread, strong Bel yeast, light lemon peels, fair to light bitter hops and grass.

Body: Mid to light body. Very smooth and slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Light maltyness in an oat-filled smooth background. Slick and quite creamy. Strong wheaty presence but tartness is rather light. Lots of orange peels and coriander which shame other Witbiers easily. Sweetness is also fairly strong but still restrained. Quite spicy and yeasty with light lemon to round. Nice!

Hoppiness: Floral, cinnamon, strong lemon and grass in nose. Light floral, spices, light lemon peels and grass in taste; Bitterness is mid to light for an abrupt, light astringent lemony wheaty finish.

After Taste: Fairly dry. Smooth, spicy and fairly bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one got a gusher-like head, loads of oats for a very smooth body, bliitz of orange peels and corianders, and pretty sharp light lemon hoppiness. Refreshing and tasty, a standout from packs. Will buy again!
