3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (26194) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 22, 2006
An unclear orange-brown beer with an OK lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and fruits, oranges and peaches, as well as lighter notes of spices, dusty hops, and alcohol, which burns slightly in the throat.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bierkoning (8944) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - OCT 17, 2006
Brown color. Roasted malt in the rather herbal aroma. Sweetish, roasted flavor with raisin. Malty and bready. The alcohol is fairly well hidden, but still noticeable. Powerful beer with enough flavor to be pleasurable, but somehow I feel this beer could be much better.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jbrus (4992) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 18, 2004
Raisin aroma with some spices. Redbrown color, light brown head, good lace, some debris. Very sweet, very fruity, light spicy, raisin, prume, full body.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JorisPPattyn (7298) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 4, 2003
Colour of very strong tea; dense white head, not very stable. Roasted malts and lots of caramel and toffee in the nose, tinge of buttermilk. Uneasy sweet-bitter balance. Bitterness from roasted malts, rather than hops. Finish sways towards a fruity sweetness (yellow apples -maybe caramelised-, figs, ripe pears). Quite chewy mouthfeel, a bit soupy (typical for these bittersweet malt concoctions). Somehow I get an impression of 'not finished'. Not enough lagering? Or just poor choice in biomalts? I remain unconvinced.
3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SteC (130) - Oostende, BELGIUM - JUL 21, 2003
This brune has a nice head, but not fenomenal.
One of the first things that struck me is the arome, wich was very good. It smelled very complex, in fact some of the better ones I've had. The taste is in contrary to the very complex and nice head a bit a disappointment. It tastes good, but I've expected a more complex palate, but that doesn't make this beer not worth drinking.
It is a good brew.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 stic (109) - Oostende, BELGIUM - NOV 3, 2002
Dark brown color with creamy head. Malty taste, a bit of toffee. One of the better biologic beers.
