Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Well, I really don’t like Hefeweizen, but I can tell when it is a good one or not. This here tastes like every Hefeweizen you may get at the discounters and is just too much banana, too much yeast and too much sweetness. I don’ t really like it, but am fair enough to rate kinda fair.

pivnizub (10180) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 10, 2016
Bottle: Pale golden to golden, hazy, smaller creamy and lacy white head; mild sourish nose of yeast and bananas, some wheaty dust underneath; light to moderate sourish-sweetish flavour, light to medium bodied, not really smooth; slightly lingering sourish and ( a bit) tart yeasty -wheaty finish. Not great, still quite well drinkable…

Hazy yellow coloured beer with a big, rocky, medium-lasting head. Aromas of wheat, malt and banana. Aroma is malty, grainy, lots of yeast with some banana. Some unpleasant bitterness in the finish, thats what i thought first. But with some temperature the beer develops refreshing, now pleasant, light bitter, citrusy. Creamy to mealy texture, average carbonation, medium body.

Bottle from Trinkgut. The beer is yellow/golden colored and has a small and stable white head, with average carbonation. The aroma is not strong but has notes of citrus and bananas, wheat and yeast. Taste is light bodied and very refreshing. Further light sweet with fruit notes and a little sourness. It finishes light bitter and refreshing, but shame it’s watery. Further very well drinkable.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Thompson. Hazy pale yellow color, average sized white head. Smell and taste wheat, lightly sweetish, lightly bitter. Thank god not a lot of banana and only a light touch of yeast. Quite nice.

(Patrizier Bräu Weissbier) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a big weizen glass. ABV 5.1% Pale orange colour on the body, quite hazy, with continuous activity in the glass. Tall and thick, soapy, white head, with very good retention, leaving spots of lacing around the glass. Your typical weizen aroma, lots of banana, some floral notes too, clove but not so strong. More clove on the taste though, with again bananas following, wheat, Medium body, average carbonation. Not bad.
