0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2014 Must be so different brewed in shanghai. No quality controls, city sewage for the water supply etc. Its a multi-hued hazy golden bottom to overripe apricot on the top. The aroma is cigarette smoke since China hasn’t figured out how to outlaw smoking yet, so who could possibly smell a fucking thing in here? The taste is like beer poured through the trashcan running across old lettuce, acid and the like. Flavor reminds me of stomach acid just after eating mcdonalds and reflexively puking it up. A foul, foul vial of liquid that should be stripped of its title of "beverage",

Yummy, smooth Hefeweizen. Blanced, refreshing, and affordable. Great beer to go with a burger.

On draft at the brewpub in XIntiandi. Smells like mildew and has some sourness that shouldn’t be found in this beer style. A shame that it’s brewed like this in China. Nothing like Paulaner found in Germany or Paulaner bottles anywhere else in the world.

Pours a cloudy mid yellow, with a white head.
Spicy aroma, citrus clove banana phenols.
Off-dry, mb lbit bco.
Spicy fruity taste citrus cloves wheat.
More evident phenols than the original, almost like paint in the aroma. (2013-03-08)

My favorite hefe weizen. Pours a cloudy unfiltered orange with an amazing head that threatens to overtop the glass. Smells of citrus and wheat. Tastes of sweet lemon and malt with barely any bitter hops. Smooth feel in mouth with moderate carbonation. For me, a close to perfect drinking beer that's smooth in taste and body.

An enjoyable hefeweizen. A bit more tart than usual, maybe even a touch more bitter than usual. Otherwise a standard hefeweizen.
