Really good beer. Who knew a widely-distributed Hefe-Wisen could be this good. Probably the best beer available in my current location in Albania.

Not my favorite hefeweizen, but a very solid representation of the style. Has the expected banana and clove notes, but actually less so than I look for in a Hefe. Still, a nice friend to have on a hot day.

Bold aroma that is mostly spice, with underlying notes of vanilla, banana and cloves. The body is medium to light, with added fruity yeastiness. Great drinkability and an all around solid hefe.

Simply the best Hefe beer in the world. Drink it and you will never get enough. Sweet and mild, each zip is pure love.. Here in Norway our local monpoly has been out of stock since may 2005, the fools. But though it gives me little comfort, I am saving some bucks because of the outrages prices on import beer here in Norway.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2005 Paualner Hefe is very difficult to obtain in Vancouver BC. I used to have it custom ordered in via the BC Liquor Board custom order program, but now I finally convinced them to begin stocking it. Unfortunately we can only get the .33l bottles instead of the .51 (hey it’s better then nothing). I find this hefe to be the perfect blend with just enough yeast to give it a smooth sweet flavor (just a bit less then Hacker Pschorr which I also love). I’ve found the date and storage of this beer to be very important. As this beer gets older the flavor changes and the yeast become harder and harder to whip up from the bottom. In short - drink it fresh!

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, nice white foamy head. Sweet fruity aroma with hints of yeast. Fruit, yeast and some spices in flavour. Also hints of sweet malts and gets a bit caramellish in fnish. Creamy mouthfeel while drinking. Citrus in aftertaste. Pleasant one.

Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Served with lemon wedge. Lots of citrus on the nose, mostly lemon and orange, with a nice light grainy aroma as well as some spice. Very light body, fizzy but not in a distracting way. The fruit and spice balance out well with a slight malt sweetness and overall general crispness. This is a fantastic beer, like sippin’ lemonade; perfect for a balmy southern summer evening.

Copper. Big, bubbly, white head. Big malt nose with subtelties of alcohol and sweetness. Same flavor with a bit of lactic character. Creamy smooth body, nice level of carbonation. Very good.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2010 After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick dark blond color and a sweet honey taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a banana touch. This beer smells fruity.
