12 oz. bottle from Beers Around the World kit. Poured a medium dark amber with a huge head that took over 2 minutes to subside to 2 fingers. Some nice lacing formed after the dense foam waned. Smell is mostly of yeast, with a slight fruitiness. Taste was just like the smell with a banana / cloves / lemon flavor blending well with the yeast and wheat taste. Smoother than I anticipated. Very slight carbonated banana aftertaste. My wife said she tasted spearmint, though I did not. Like the commercial description says, it is indeed a very crisp, refreshing beer. I am limited in my wheat beer experiences, but I like it a lot, prefering it to the Hackor Pshoor hefe. So far, my favorite hefe.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2008 Draught at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Cloudy orange/gold with thick tight white head. Banana/lemon/touch of bubblegum. Refreshing, very good hefeweiss. Finish has lemon and banana, but it feels light and fluffy. Quite a nice dry feel

Cloudy yeasty pour with a beautiful rocky white head that does diminish over time, but continues to coat the glass. Aroma of citrus and wet sourdough bread. Citrus, cloves and wheat maltiness in the taste. A very good example of the style.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2006 Bottled. Cloudy golden pour with huge frothy head. Typical strong wheat beer aroma. Creamy mouthfeel. Sweet and lacking any bitterness. Simple, laid-back and containing a touch more yeast than most. I’ll take a Maisel’s or a Franziskaner over this, but still, a top-notch Hefe.[3.6]

Update: This one was a bit oily, a bit slick. I really wasn’t having a good time by the bottom, very boring.[3.3]

Poured a cloudy orange with a good sized white head that went away quickly. Nice banana smell. Taste had a slight banana flavor and was quite refreshing.

"MMMM very nice. Poured a nice golden brown with an average puffy head. Smell was nice and fresh of bananas. The first sipe was a typical hefe, with a little cloves added to it. What a beer."

01.17.06 500ml bottle. Typical German hefe pour is clouded orange-golden with light and lingering tan head of loose froth. Aroma is inviting with mildly spicy clove and citrus hints mingling with an esthery sweetness and yummy yeast. The flavor is laid back moreso than expected but nonetheless very quenching with mild acidity (citrus, tart) and some bananas in breakfast cereal. Slick, yet tingly in its eff. I like that it’s mouthfeel is more asertive than many hefeweizens. How I’ve never had this beer until today is a mystery.

Poured from the bottle at The Light Bar in Shoreditch (London), a bright cloudy orange with a large frothy head. A strong wheat aroma of citrus and banana, with hints of pepper. Smooth to taste and a good tanginess.

Doughy, wheaty, sweet aroma. Cloudy amber, some head. Tingly carbonation, tasty yeasty fruity flavor, banana aftertaste.
