Cloudy orange in color with a frothy white head that is lacing pretty damn well.
Awesome banana and clove aroma.
Slightly acidic with wheat and malt characteristics. Flavor was mainly the banana and clove. Very distinctive and perfect for the style. Some citrus and peach notes as well. Very tasty!

On tap in a .5L Paulaner hefe glass (Got to love the Brickstore pub in Atl. and only $4.25) Pours a cloudy straw color with a big rocky white head. Big bananna aroma with some spice. This carried over to the flavor as well as some yeast flavors. As it warmed there were more lemon flavors noticable. Light to medium body with a fruity finish

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: perfectly cloudy straw yellow, with a majestic white head atop.
Aroma: everything you want in a hefe weizen, fresh, citric, fruity, but still somehow dry, straw-like, so very lemony, and that element of yeast fills the nostrils as well.
Excellent texture, great play on the tongue, spicy, but smooth. Fresh, fruity, delicious. Medium bodied, tasty, longish finish, very memorable flavor. The yeast and citrusy taste dominate and create a most adequate beverage for any occasion.
Drinkability? I could toss down a million of them!
I still rank Schneider and Weihenstephaner up above, just slightly, but there’s not a thing wrong with Paulaner’s offering, not a thing at all!

Krauts make the best hefe-weizens. (Don’t hit me with the PC crap... I’m an American of Kraut heritage.) This is a prime example. Certainly not the best, but very tasty. It pours a solidly hazy near amber color with a thin white head. Nice fruity, slightly grassy aroma. Mildly sweet with a winey fruit finish. And I picked it up at a local grocery store. Progress.

Slightly less head than generic hefeweissen. Fruity, fresh aroma. Body slightly thinner than expected. Touch of boiled veggies. Vanilla notes and a bit sweeter than the average hefeweissen.
