Generally too light and spicey for me; however, it frequently can be the best beer available.

500 mL bottle poured into my Hofbrauhaus weizen glas. Poured a deep golden color with a big head that sticks around. Strong banana/bubblegum aroma with some spiciness as well. Strong taste of yeast and wheat with a tangy edge to it in the finish. This is one of the beers that I came back from Germany raving about and while I have found some better hefes since, this is still a good one and worth drinking.

From the bottle: Pours a cloudy deep gold with a thin white head. Typical Hefe aroma of clove and banana. Zippy mouthfeel, deep banana taste. Pretty average overall I thought.

Yellow-orange in colour. Thick white long lasting head. Has a wheat aroma with some hints of clove and bananas. Taste of banana, yeast and some citrus flavours. Bananas in the aftertaste. A good weiss bier.

Bottle. I like that one. My first Hefeweizen I think. Cloudy, yellow/golden color, light but tasty: banana, clove and some spices. Gimme another one anytime!

On tap (Scruffy Murphey’s, downtown Columbus, GA): Cloudy, yellow-orange body with nice head. Light flavor with a refreshing hint of banana in the background. Overall very good.

12 oz bottle: For some reason i always thought i had already picked this up before and thought it was alright. Aroma is a moderate but refreshing smell of the classic examples of a true German hefeweizen. Chewed bubblegum, an old banana peel, and hints of clove and yeast sit right behind the two inseparable staples. The flavor isn’t as promising as the aroma had tricked me into believing, but it’s still a worhty hef to be drank. A decent amount of bubblegum and yeast found in the flavor while a satisfying amount of wheat outweigh everything else. Maintains a sturdy covering of foam until the the very end as the clear golden liquid disappears.

Bottle. Hazy amber color with a huge frothy white head that diminished slowly. Good sweet wheat aroma. Light to medium texture. Good refreshing wheat and fruit flavor wih a moderate sweet finish.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is my is hard to detect but you do get some spices and cloves. Flavor is a bit weak in mine. In fact i have to really almost try to detect what was used. I get some banana and vanilla but again its very weak. Maybe an old bottle since i bought this at a place you would not go to get good craft beer. Franziskaner is still the best.

After a long search, I’ve finally found this..... in a bar near my uni. Great. 0.33l bottle, drank from a Paulaner weissbier glass. Said 5.5%, but same thing probably. It poured an enormous, thick white head, gold/orange colour. Not as misty as some, but who cares. Well carbonated. The nose was spicy, with hints of bananas maybe, not as assertive as in, say, Franziskaner, but nice enough. The taste was....well.... good. Typical weissbier taste, only better. Banana, lemon, yeast. Pleasant stuff. Faint banana aftertaste. Doesn’t beat Franziskaner in my opinion, but that one’s a sentimental favorite, and that probably has something to do with it.
