UPDATED: JAN 7, 2014 Bottle - Golden cloudy haze colour. Wonderfull aroma and flavour of banana, citrus peach and wheat. Very tasty and lives up to its reputation. Have not been dissapointed with the Paulaner Hefe-Weiss yet.

Pours what you would expect for a weiss, cloudy golden that pours a couple of fingers white head that reduces to one. Fresh wheat malt to the nose and taste. Taste mild banana and a little fruit. Meh not the best example of a wheat.

500 ml. Hazy, amber color, long-life big sized off-white creamy head, medium body, sour quince and slight sweet malty taste, dry and sour wheaty palate without hoppy notes. Smooth and well-balanced brew.

Poured from a 500ml bottle, bought in Chicago. Best buy date: 11/14. Pours a hazy, light gold/orange color with a thick, finely foamy, almost creamy head that lingers. Aroma is of light malt sweetness, wheat, and dominant banana. Very light and delicate smell. Flavor is lightly sweet up front with a pronounced wheat character. A faint note of apple is present and moderate notes of orange peel throughout. Lingering malt sweetness and wheat character on the back end. No hop presence. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied. Overall a very tasty, well-rounded, and refreshing beer and a great example of the style.

Can from lcbo. Pours orange with thick white head. Mild aroma of bananas with a bit of spice. Tastes strongly of bananas with some sweetness and some clove/cinnamon. Very refreshing. Lingering banana aftertaste.

Piękny, mętny wygląd. Niestety niezbyt gorzkie, lekko kwaśne, słodki smak pojawia się w ustach po pewnym czasie.

Medium gold pour, creamy thick white head. Nose is banana, light clove, and yeast. Bittersweet. Middle is soft fruit and creamy wheat malt. Finish is yeasty and slightly dry.

I've been enjoying a lot of weheinstephaner Hefe recently, figured I'd give Paulaner a try too. This is a close second, a very flavorful if less complex example of the style. To begin, this pours a flawless appearance, a nice hazy orange color with good lacing, also a full long-lasting natural head, impressive, aroma is pleasant too, more wheat/malt than orange/banana notes, I prefer that. Taste is good, more malty wheaty base, less fruity freshness. Something that appetizingly tastes like apples. Finish is ok but something is off, kind of sour I think. Still very good overall, I would purchase again. Wehein.. wins in this style category, while I prefer Paulaner in the dopplebock category.

500ml bottle [eins geht noch rein]. Hazy amber colour with huge, frothy to creamy, off-white head. Wheaty and yeasty aroma, herbal hoppy overtones, slightly bready, a touch of apple. Taste is minimally sweat malty, slightly bready, some roast apple, herbal hoppy overtones. For a long time not much yeast action, slightly dull and muffled; later a bit more peppery spicy in well balance with the bready touch. Lacks a bit of the refreshing character typical for a Weizen.
