UPDATED: JAN 7, 2014 Bottle - Golden cloudy haze colour. Wonderfull aroma and flavour of banana, citrus peach and wheat. Very tasty and lives up to its reputation. Have not been dissapointed with the Paulaner Hefe-Weiss yet.

NORSAND (27) - - SEP 17, 2014
Nose: Slightly sweet wheat and crushed coriander seeds, yeast and yellow berries and lemon fruitiness. Taste & palate: Smooth, creamy taste with nice fruitiness, some hops (not much though) and a short to medium aftertaste. Nothing very complicated or complex but an honest, classic and refreshing weissbier.

Paulaner is one of the more conservative weissbiers out there, but why mess with history? A bit of banana on the nose and a good bit yeasty on the mouth.

Mild brew with wheat bananas taking the center stage. Some acidity and astringency on the finish. Decent but nothing out of the ordinary.

poured into a tall schooner from a 500ml can. Scents of light citrus and classic wheat beer notes. Cloudy tan/orange with a rocky off-white head. good carmel and lightly sour, light sweetness, with a lingering wheat finish. Nice character and drinkability.

Klassisches Weizenbier. Vielleicht DAS Weizenbier. Man schmeckt die Hefe, ein bisschen Bananengeschmack ist auch mit dabei, zudem eine gewisse Malzigkeit. Kein Hopfen.

Barna színű testvéréhez hasonlóan kiváló tulajdonságokkal bíró, narancslekvár színű főzet, mely a búzasörök malátás teltségét és üde gyümölcsösségét egyaránt megcsillogtatja. Fantasztikusan harmonikus alkotás.

German Wheat Beers dominate. They have perfected them. Paulaner might be the best. It’s a conservative wheat beer, that tastes perfect. Others have a slightly wilder wheat taste. So start with Paulaner. Can only get it in the bottle around NE Ohio. But it’s widely available, which is nice. Far better than any Belgian or American wannabe. They have been doing it a long time. For example, the equally great German Wheat Beer by Wenstaphaner has been brewing beer since the year 1080. It’s has a nice wilder wheat taste, and is available on tap at the Winking Lizard restaurant in Peninsila, Ohio. Other German Hefe-Weizen wheat beers like Schnieder, Franzanhaner, Ayinger are very good too. Franzenhaner is on tap at the Firehouse Grill in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The only Amercan wheat beer that comes close is Victory’s wheat beer. Got it on tap at the Gastropub in Hudson, Ohio 7/2014. On Rt 303 just east of the low railroad bridge. Enjoy !

Poured from the tap at Paulaner am Dom. Cloudy orange with white head. Wheaty, yeast aroma and taste. Decently fills mouth. No banana flavour.
