Let me iterate firstly that I have always been impartial to wheat/white beers. I really enjoy the citrus taste and find it a delicious alternative to the bitter side of beer when I need reprieve. This beer has a foamy bright white head that dissipates at a medium to slow pace. The taste is leans towards being one sided as most beers this style tend to be, though the individuality of the ingredients is best enjoyed without the usual orange/lemon slice that’s served in the glass. The beer itself is gorgeous. A delightfully opaque bright orange glow accentuates the thick, sediment laden character of the beer, usually leaving flavorful sediment in the bottom of the glass/bottle you drink it from. I’ve had this beer a thousand times either in a bottle or on tap -- it’s always a treat. Especially when you need to town down from a recent IPA binge. I seem to bounce between these two styles of beer semi-regularly.

In 500 mL can. Plastic, yeast and nothing else. Oh well, when you want to get drunk and you’re thirsty...

Blanche tourbe orangée. mousse blanche persistante. Arôme fruité acide, avec une douceur de banane. En bouche similaire, avec un léger houblonnage apportant de la rondeur à l’acidité citron-orange et douceur bananée. Bière blanche de qualité.

Aroma: wheaty, malty, caramel. Appearance: hazy gold, massive, frothy white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light bitters coming up, very wheaty, grain malts. Overall: nice Hefeweizen, quite well balanced aroma and palate. Bottle at The Victoria, Bayswater.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Surprised I hadn’t rated this yet. I’ve had it so many times I’ve lost count. Foam banana and the typical wheat yeast aromas on the nose. Similar taste. Thirst quencher.

Nose: Slightly sweet wheat and crushed coriander seeds, yeast and yellow berries and lemon fruitiness. Taste & palate: Smooth, creamy taste with nice fruitiness, some hops (not much though) and a short to medium aftertaste. Nothing very complicated or complex but an honest, classic and refreshing weissbier.

Paulaner is one of the more conservative weissbiers out there, but why mess with history? A bit of banana on the nose and a good bit yeasty on the mouth.

Mild brew with wheat bananas taking the center stage. Some acidity and astringency on the finish. Decent but nothing out of the ordinary.
