4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Appearance: pours a beautiful orange-brown color with a white pillowy head that quickly disapates.
Taste: bananas, .
Overall: Delicous. One of my favorite beers. Franziskaner and Weihenstephaner don’t have that thick creamy body and imho a creamy body is a nicer touch than the lighter/more effervescent ones.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a amber color with a bit of haze and big fluffy white head. Aroma is a typical German hefe with wheat, yeast, barley, and some straw. Taste was the same with a bit of fruit in there (banana?). Not bad, but this isn’t my favorite style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Biggie Wine & Liquor. Orange, light hazy appearance with a diminishing white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, clove, light banana, wheat malts, light vanilla, toasted grains and light noble hops. Similar flavor, mild sweetness and light bitterness with a light spicy yeasty finish. Light to medium body. Pretty solid Hef overall.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
pretty good example of bavarian hefe, pretty tangy, full flavored. you can taste the wheat and other aspects (fruity, slight hops) as well. one i’d like to try again, and i don’t say that about hefes much."

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can. Light golden, cloudy, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty – some wheat and sweetish aroma, some fruitiness and light banana. Body is light to medium, malty – lightly wheaty and lightly sweet flavor, fruitiness and light banana. Finish is short to average, malty – lightly wheaty and dryish - lightly sweetish, light banana. Watery hefeweizen from big brewery for the masses. Lacks character (and taste).

Review: Can of Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier Naturtrüb 5.5%ABV
Paulaner’s have made good beer for close to 400 years, so it was with great excitement that I had a chance to sample a Oktoberfest special and the brewery’s biggest selling product. German beer is always a winner so lets see how I got on…………
The smell was of a very very strong sweet aroma, but lovely on the nose. The aroma is mostly wheat and earthy with some light citrus notes. Going by the smell, its already off to a great start, lovely stuff. This is a beer that means business.
On pour I got a very large frothy white head that took a little while to settle, with a dark cloudy golden colour of a beer appearing. There was very good lacing with some carbonation.
When the head finally settled down, I started on the important business of the tasting. The taste was not as overly strong as I had expected, it was extremely smooth and clean to drink, subtle flavours, with a lovely feel to it. To be honest I didnt find too much going on with the taste, as the flavours were particularly soft on the palate, with a mild wheat and yeast taste. There was a very faint but nice citrus hop aftertaste, This has to be one of the most drinkable beers I have had in a long time, was very easy to drink and enjoyable in the process. Such a shame I only bought a few cans! Can see why this beer is so popular in the beer halls of Munich, as I’d imagine you could down these all day long. This is really a top beer. Strongly recommended. Prost!
