Has the refreshing fruitiness of wheat, with the rich flavor and color of caramelized barley.

0.5l bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a cloudy dark dark brownish body with a big everlasting just off-white head. It’s aroma is light malty, not to extreme, hints of brown sugar and bread. Lively to average carbonation, medium-bodied and it has a light oily mouthfeeling. Tastes mild dark malty. Notes of yeast, cardboard and flowers. Ends mildly dry and quite alright.

Had this at a restaurant that’s been around since 1233. Pours a cloudy dark beige with a big frothy almond head. Aroma is big banana, big wheat. Fantastic. Taste is a big mouthfeel, loads of banana esters, slight caramel, lots of wheat and a hint of hop. Great, great beer.

Incredible nice vanilla/banana smell and a nice dark colour. Also the dark-ingredients balance the strong weiss-elements which makes it a very good beer and tremendously enjoyable. Paulaner keeps surprising with their strong ingredients and developed balance.

KyotoLefty (8754) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 24, 2011
Draught at the Pig and Whistle in Kyoto. Never saw this in Japan before. Medium borwn, very cloudy, with a fine, nitro-looking head. Aroma of wheat, clove, some chocolate and a bit of banana. Wheaty sour edge is prevalent, with caramel, chocolate, banana and clove. Quite sour, like green apples—probably a bit old. Fizzy—smooth but fizzy. Not too much dunkel character, and banana is also light. Refreshing but not so flavorful. Not near as good as the regular weizen.

Bottle at Colonel Mustard. Cloudy dark brown color, large brown head. Aroma of malts and wheat, taste of caramel, nuts, spices, candy and hops. A bit boring ending
