Murky oxide hue under a voluminous tan sponge. Grape and cherry bubble gum collides with oily rye and caraway. Soft acids and whole wheat cookies faint into a leafy finish. Light, watery with a chalky texture; carbonation is brisk.
Shy acidity and malts leave me wanting.

Feb 9, 2010 Cloudy, brown color, big white head; banana estery, fruity aroma with bready caramel notes; medium body, quite smooth, not too carbonated, but still crisp mouthfeel; flavor of toasted caramel and banana with bready notes and - though barely notable - spiciness.

Jan 21, 2010 Bottle @ Guilin Paulaner. Hazy brown with thick, lasting head. yeasty aroma is chocolate banana bread with custard. Soft, easy palate. Cocoa is in the background all the way in the decent beer.

Dec 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy golden amber with a creamy off-white head that lasts a little while. Aroma has notes of banana, chocolate, yeast, caramel and spice. Flavour is less fruity, more spicy and a little sweeter, with the chocolate and caramel notes standing out. The body is a bit light with a thin, slightly watery mouthfeel, moderate carbonation and a dry, mildly sweet finish. Easy drinking, this is not a bad dunkel but far from the best.

Oct 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours cloudy reddish brown with a big thick off-white head. Aroma is of lots of sweet fruit (banana and apple, mostly), some musty yeast, and spice. Plus some unpleasantness metallic notes. Flavor is all of that plus some caramel malt and vanilla. Flavor is actually very refreshing; palate is a bit watery; a little short in the back end.

Oct 13, 2009 Draught Foxy-cream head over fully hazy orange-amber beer. Banana, jumble of fruity esters, sweet-sour, solvent. Sweet-sour, some wholemeal notes, and lots of fruit, mainly banana. Well-bodied, very (wheat)slick; long-lasting flavours. Nice, if unspectacular Dunkelweizen. Maybe that’s tautology.

Brown-reddish, cloudy body, with a large, creamy, beige head, mostly lasting with a good lacing.
Fruity aroma (banana, apple; prune?) with some caramel notes due to the malt.
Moderate sweet flavour with a significant acidic character.
Medium body with an oily texture; average carbonation, some astringency in the finish.
Good, even if not as good as the helles one...

Aug 31, 2009 Bottled from Aachen. Dark nut brown color, vy, with huge tan foamy fluffy head. Even half emptied looks spectacular due to thick lacing it leaves. Aroma is citric with banana. Flavours is the same with more fruits. a very nice one!
