Paulaner Hefeweissbier

Pours a turbid, opaque gold with white fluffy head that persists for a wee bit. Nose is of wheat and that banana-clove that we all come to love. Taste is the spice that is followed by a lingering banana taste as the beer rolls down your throat. There is a hint of unpleasant aftertaste at the very end. Otherwise, pretty damn good.

Aroma - Banana, clove, light fruit and grain all contribute to a traditional hefe aroma

Appearance - Cloudy yellow orange that has to be poured carefully because of the explosive, billowing white head that shows good durability.

Flavor - Excellent balance of flavors with the fruitiness of the malt complementing a light wheaty tartness and soft dryness at the finish.

Palate - Light body, healthy carbonation, smooth and clean palate

Overall - A very fine hefeweizen in the classic tradition from one of Bavaria’s most respected brewers.

Bottle: Great beer. I almost do not remember drinking the beer because it went down so easy. Aroma and flavor of banana and yeast.

Draught. Hazy golden colour with a nice white head. Nose is yeast and banana with some lemon. Taste is banana, yeast, sweet and also fruity. Creamy mouthfeel and some bitterness in the aftertaste. Very nice summer beer.

I have always enjoyed this beer. Nice cloudy golden pour with a decent mostly white head. Aroma is a yeast explosion with some wheat. Flavor is all yeast and is fruity and goes down so smooth. Good creamy mouthfeel.
