Ported (67), Ontario, Canada May 24, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy Yellow with a frothy white head. Wheat, Banana, Citrus, Yeast and Spices. Light body, easy drinking and very refreshing. A quality weiss. Habanero (610), Tranbjerg, Denmark May 24, 2008 Bottle, pours hazy and yellow with a large, white head. Nose of wheat, banana and notes of yeast. Crisp and medium sweet flavour with grain and citrus. Light bodied. A pleasant brew. HomeBrewHawk (266), De Soto, Kansas, USA May 24, 2008 12oz. brown bottle served in a pilsner glass (my hefe glass is a 500ml). Pours a hazy pale gold with lots of carbonation. Three fingers of fine, white bubbled head. Subdued aroma of spicy clove. Light bodied, some citrus. Banana and clove in the finish. A very refreshing summer beer, but not my favorite hefe. Aroma was a little lacking to me. CJfromPhilly (82), Aston, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2008 Pours from the 16.9 oz (25% more than your regular 12 ouncer!) bottle a cloudy apple juice amber with a foamy one finger head that settles int a thick collar. Mild carbonation present in the haze. Aroma is tangy citrus with maybe a hint of banana. Taste is a sharp snap of crisp, tart citrus and banana. The tell-tale wheat zing is very present and also very refreshing! Mouthfeel is crisp, slighly effervescent, and medium bodied. Drinkability is very good, especially on a sweltering summer day! Overall, this is a very tasty beer. I picked up a single for sampling & rating purposes, but i’ll soon be going back for a couple of sixers to put away for those hot, humid summer days to come! Ljunkan (380), Karlstad, Sweden May 23, 2008 Updated: Mar 22, 2009Rerate: Pours a hazy orange color with a nice white head. Nice, typical aroma of spices, yeast, banana. Flavour is pretty much the same with a light acidity. A bit thin in the mouth but it’s truly refreshing and good. High drinkability. v64 (74), Austin, Texas, USA May 21, 2008 Pours brownish yellow, very thick head as expected. Slight citrus aroma. Definitely can taste banana in it, delicious. The flavor of alcohol comes through more than I’m used to in this type of beer. A little more bitter than a typical hefeweizen too. It’s definitely unique and worth a taste. blutt59 (2045), Dallas, Texas, USA May 21, 2008 bottle, good bubbly tapioca head, cloudy orange color, banana and spice nose, smooth lemon and spice flavor with banana notes also, a very nice finish and very drinkable hefe roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 21, 2008 Bought a case of this last weekend. Very happy with it. Poured a nice cloudy dark gold color with nice fizzy/bubbly white head that lasts. Aroma is banana, lemon, a bit of yeasty doughiness. Flavor is nice and light, but not watery, spiced banana with bit of lemon. Overall, perfect warm weather beer. Had this with a friend around a bonfire and couldn’t have asked for a better choice.
