AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA May 21, 2008 Easily the best unfiltered I have had to date, and it is widely available. There is always a robust head to go with the yellow-orange body, and the citrus flavors are present without too much sweetness. Defreni (994), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 20, 2008 Flaske. Faktisk en rigtig skuffende Hefeweize. God duft af banan, men ikke en særlig pæn øl. Rødligt skær i den uklare normale farve. Smagen er en anelse frugtig, men er ikke rigtig forfriskende. FlssmrBrewAlum (1079), Lisle, Illinois, USA May 19, 2008 12 oz. bottle from John’s Grocery (Iowa City, IA). Pours a cloudy glowing golden orange hue with a nice white head that looks like merangue. Aromas of yeast, banana esters, and a touch of sweet citus. Initial taste is light, with a nice subtle yeastiness, some esters that are understated, yet appreciated, and a slightly bitter finish that lets me know I didn’t miss the citrus and banana. Aftertaste leaves some more of the esters on the tounge. A very light bodied brew that seems to quench very well and is not on the sweet side, but still makes its presence felt. Good, but not my favorite Hefe. Bhef25 (35), USA May 19, 2008 Zesty lemony full of citrus and a hint of banana, crisp finish. Easy to drink light head cloudy golden appearence. I was impressed. carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA May 17, 2008 Updated: Sep 12, 2008cloudy light orange with little head or lacing. allspice and cloves aroma. banana spice taste, crisp finish. TET (226), Finland May 17, 2008 Updated: Aug 30, 2008Paulaner Hefeweissbier is cloydy, yellow-orange beer with medium white head. Aroma is typical: wheats, bananas and yeast. Wheatness is quity light, but instead of that there are some bitterness and hops in the flavour. Carbonation is balanced and so this is quite smooth to drink. Differs from typical hefes so that there are more hops and maybe Paulaner is not so sweet plus some biting aspect makes this more interesting. Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA May 15, 2008 On tap at the Paulaner Biergarten in Munich, which is the only way to drink this delicious hefe.
This is an excellent example of this wonderful style, aroma, flavor, color, all exemplary. Wonderful beer. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA May 13, 2008 Pours a hazy golden orange. Aromas of bread/bananas/ and some fruit. Had a taste of yeasty bread with some spice.
