kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Nov 28, 2007 Golden hazy color. Small head. Great fruity aroma, with strong hints of apple. Good sweet, fruity taste. zethca (62), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 25, 2007 Bottle. Spicy citrus aroma. Hints of lemon, spice in the nose. Light mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very refreshing and drinkable. A great Hefe. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 22, 2007 Had this beer on 1/22/1998. Color is a pale golden with a slight haze in it, carbonation is good with a small amount of head being held on top. Aroma has a sour fragrance with a touch of lemon hidden in the back. Taste is wonderful full of spicy, and citrus flavor. It starts off with a medium body that as it goes down the flavor begins to come alive, and finishes with a sour taste that has back tones of malt, spice, and citrus. I think the best way to describe the flavor of this beer is that it is bursting with flavor, but is not overwhelming. Its the berst Hefe and is what all Hefe’s should be judged by junon (210), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Nov 22, 2007 Dunno if I got a bad bottle or something but its just not what I was expecting. The appearance of a German Hefe is there no worries there. Its beautiful but the smell is just off. I just dont smell the banana I have come to love when I pick up a German Hefe. Classic Hefe taste is there but I think the alcohol comes out just a bit more than usual. ohad (16), Israel Nov 20, 2007 33cl bottle. strong aroma of banana and peach. magnificent white big head, that lasts very long.
the color is dark yellow, a bit cloudy with lots of bubbles.
the flavor is lemony, watery, soapy and fruity. very light sweetness, exactly the wrong amount. generally bad flavor.
the bitterness is very light.
a big disappointment, as I remember the draft version to be standard good Weissbier. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Nov 20, 2007 Bottle: Poured a hazy brown yellow with a creamy off white head. Nice hefe aroma filled with bananas and spice, light yeast. Nice bitter first bite grabs your taste buds and opens it up to that spice wheat flavor. Doesn’t have that overwhelming bread loaf feel so its more balanced. frankenstein (64), Livermore, California, USA Nov 17, 2007 I’m not a huge hefeweizen beer drinker but when I do, I prefer the German style. The aroma definately has banana/lemon/spice notes to it. The appearance is a nice hazy golden color which is text book for a hefe. It has a nice balance of wheat, banana, citrus and spice with a touch of hop bitterness. It is a solid, reliable hefeweizen. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Nov 14, 2007 Pours a cloudy gold with a surprisingly small head and just a bit of lace. Aroma is very potent and sweet. Tastes very bready and thick, light citrus (orange). Body is incredible - completely coats my mouth, great carbonation and a thick, chewy body. Wow! A very nice wheat beer, a bit on the subtle side as far as spicing goes, but very pleasant. More of an early fall or late spring beer rather than a summer beer. Tasty!
