Copenhagen 1/11 2014. 50 cl can from Netto. Pours clear yellow with big white head which slowly settles. Malty aroma with notes of sourness. Medium carbonation. Standard pilsner taste. Nice balance between sweetness and bitterness with overweight of bitterness in aftertaste. Not very original - but solid.

Bottle at Piccadilly, Bodø. Pours a clear straw colour with a small, off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, hay and sweet corn. The flavour is similar with more malt and hay, and some alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A balanced and quite malty beer. Not very interesting though.

4oz on tap at the Lager House. Labeled explicitly on the menu as "Paulaner Octoberfest Weis’n" -- ABV listed as 5%. These guys do a lot of business with the distributor in question, so I suppose if any place in town is likely to have this beer, this place is more than others. Clear golden orange color.. Good thin off-white head, leaving good thicker lace. Very musty aroma... Bready, musty funky lageriness, touch of corn? Not very impressive, funky must is dominant. Lighter body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation, slick texture. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter, and a kind of rough bite in the finish. Nope, not impressive. I’d have been very disappointed to have ordered a pint. Not too much different from macro lagers. A touch of burnt popcorn that I’m used to getting from super-stale NA macro lagers. Was the keg from 2014?

05.2014 best by date. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 10.27.13. Smooth, malty, and easy to drink. It was ok, but I wouldn’t seek it out again.

50cl bouteille. Première oktoberfest Bier. Correcte, agréable, mais sans plus. A comparer avec d’autres oktoberfest bier.

Drinking from a 0,5l bottle. A grainy, not so special aroma. The clear golden beer has a medium white head. The taste is a bit watery, but also spices are noticeable. Easy drinkable, full bodied. Medium carbonated.

500ml bottle. 07/15. Pours a bright, pale straw colour with a frothy, slightly off white head which refused to disappear and excellent lacing. Very gentle aroma of malt and only a hint of hops. Light sweetness and light bitterness. Very clean. Medium body, smooth texture and just a touch of bitterness in the finish. Not very complex but subtle, well made and a perilously drinkable brew at 6% abv. I wish I had another one of these, as it’s not a beer to be pondered and dissected, it’s a beer to be simply enjoyed.
