something different! A pils but a bit heavier. Typical floral hoppy nose from Paulaner, hoppy and acid finish, a good beer

TBone (14613) - Pori, FINLAND - SEP 11, 2005
Pale golden color, good creamy white head. Lemony hoppy nose. Malty, medium-bodied, lemony hoppy flavor. This boring oktoberfest brew looks way too overrated here.

Dorqui (2150) - Brescia, ITALY - SEP 10, 2005
Compact and persistent foam, not excessive bulky. Golden yellow color, medium fizz and discreetly shining. Long-lasting bitter and decided malty scent, agreeable. Fresh and alcoholic taste, softly dry; much pleasant and bitter. Watery and light metallic on the end.

Pours gold with a decent white head. Smells of cookie dough and lemon. Taste is average and malty.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2005 On draft at the Federal in Durham, NC. Sweet malty aroma is slightly fruity. Much more flavorful than the bottled version it seems. Very sweet with only a hint of german hops. This is definitely a session beer as it seems I could pound these all night if I wanted to. I’d probably stick to the Heffe instead though.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2006 (Bottled) Clear, pale golden color with a smallish, white head. Sweet, lightly acidic and grassy, toffee-grainy-malty, honeyish aroma. Smooth, quite malty, sweetish flavor with honey hints, some acidity, but very low bitterness. Sweetish, medium-bodied palate with soft carbonation. Very easily drinkable, which - I guess - is a plus for an Oktoberfest beer. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden. Not very interesting, but smooth, easy and malty brew. (Draught@Kaisla, Helsinki, was 5-2-5-3-10=2.5) Slightly hazy, pale golden color with a small head. Honey-sweetish acidic and slightly corny aroma. Sweet, corny-malty flavor with some acidity. Pretty light-bodied, slightly alcoholic, not very carbonated palate. A quite lightweight and plain, sweet märzen. Somewhat like Löwenbräu Original, only sweeter and with more alcohol.

Pours a very clear golden with a small fluffy white head. Sweet malty aroma, with some skunky hops. Quite full in body and wonderfully balanced, loads of nutty biscuity malt, and small flowery hoppy flavour. Very clean finish and low bitterness, great beer

Bottled. Clear yellow coloured with a white head. Aroma of malts and hops with fruity and yeasty notes. Flavour of malts and hops. Hoppy finish. Ordinary.

Bottle: Crystal clear gold with a big solid white head. Lots of sweet, buttery malts upfront, a little sulphur, and some elusive golden floral notes. Very slight phenolic notes later on. Buttery and nutty malts with a soft lemony aftertaste (and a bit of dust). A little astringent but quenching nonetheless.
