UPDATED: OCT 15, 2004 pale for an oktoberfest - dark yellow like a dehydrated pee. smells malty/hallertauey/plus a bit of tinned fruit salad more like a bock. taste is creamy, bready malt with a surprisingly dry, resinous bitter finish, with some alcohol noticeable. Pretty rough but tasty enough.

Unlike many festbiers, the malt doesn’t smack you upside the head, but is rather understated. Fairly dry, with a decent amount of bitterness. Well-balanced. I love the label, with the rows of beer wenches serving up suds.

Well balanced & malty. Very good. Head lasted forever in the glass.

The best oktoberfest. Awesome malt flavors and full body flavor.

This was, to me, a great brew. Excellent rounded malt flavors, slight sweetness, but a bit thin-feeling. Had it in the bottle, and it tasted as fresh as could be. Definitely worth it to me.

This is a solid Octoberfest. The only better one I’ve had is the Hacker-Pschorr. This one is a little less interesting than the H-P, but still very solid and well rounded.

Very nice, the bottle I tried showed no ill effects of its long travel. Just a great fest beer. Nice pour with a good head. Just the right amount of hops and sweetness makes it a winner.

Great Marzen. I had this on draft in Munich, then in a bottle. The ratings given are for the tap version. The bottle had a slightly skunky flavor.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2005 A classic bitter German beer. Pretty hoppy.

Mine was 6.0%ABV. Funny label with the fat German chicks carrying beer. Rather malty with a slight sweetness. Smooth and pleasant.
