Pours dark gold ,with minimal head and lacing.Very nicely carbonated. Good malt upfront in both aroma and taste, finishes dry with a slightly bitter aftertaste.very drinkable indeed.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pretty average tasting to me -- I used to like this better than Hacker Pschorr, but not anymore after having them consecutively. Was golden more than red. Head faded much to quickly. Nice inviting aroma, but little in the way of fresh, complex taste. -- just a little sweet lager is a what I thought, rather than bold Oct Bier. Way too expensive too ($9.69 for a six) for what it was.

I’ll admit it, I like American Octoberfests better than German versions. My German ancestors may frown on that statement but it’s true. Paulaner’s version is an average sweet Marzen with a golden appearance.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I like this beer, it’s one of my favorite Oktoberfests as it doesn’t overdo it. So many of the seasonal attempts at this beer seem to try too hard. Here is a tasty, well balanced beer that can be drunk by the litre in a giant stein with a big creamy head.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. I had this beer in the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth, Texas. I enjoyed it a lot. Pours a little lighter than I imagined but nose is malty and a little hoppy. Taste is great, with a nice sharp bite and a pleasant finish that shows some nice work done balancing this one with the hops. Good mouthfeel and a decent body. I enjoyed.

Bottled, JDW Ocktoberfest. Deep yellow, scant white head. Sweetness to the aroma and the flavour, simple mildly hopped finish, enjoyable but not outstanding.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Yellow colored, white head. Surprisingly light colored for märzen. Sweet and fusel aroma with notes of alcohol, not disturbingly though. Medium bodied. Sweet start in flavor, some grass, fusel and fruit come up too. Notes of hops in the end. Little disappointment for Paulaner, too thin and mild in many cases.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear spritzy appearence. Malty aroma with malt on the palate and some spice but I found this slighlty Uninspiring.
