Maybe I got a skunky one, but it had an odd aftertaste and a pretty funky aroma. But in the mouth, it’s a pretty well balanced beer.

From bottle- light clear gold colour, malty aroma with a hint of hops. Light mouthfeel with a inoffensive finish. Good on a hot day - like today.

This beer seemed to lack any real taste. It goes down smooth and doesn’t offend in any way, so it might be a good beer to enlighten a Coorbudmiller drinker, but it’s not a beer for me.

Pretty good German brew. It doesn’t have that German bite, which is great. Flavor is a rather good amber.

Tan/gold colour. quite a decent amount of head. Sweet malty aroma, sweet wheaty flavour on the palate, with a hoppy finish, slight acidity and bitterness, enjoyable. A bit of stinky hay and barnyard this time, a bit strange, but OK, not too complex.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2006 Rerate 11/23/05 Just does not do it for me anymore, corny flavor permeates throughout - even though I know Germans do not put corn in their beer. No real caramelly sweetness that I usually seek out in Marzens. Original 3.9 Strange aroma upon opening - kind of a rotten vegetable smell - but mellows out to a clean malty scent. Pumpkin-like appearance with a long lasting head. Good yeasty, malty, stick to your ribs kind of flavor. Full body lasts to the end. This style is kind of growing on me.

Golden coloured with white medium lasting foam. Very sweet and malty aroma. Flavour is malty wiht some bitterness in the end. Very dry. Good over average beer.

Nice example of Octoberfest. Good deep gold color, medium head. Nice malt up front with tones of a hop finish.

Bottled. Straw gold, slightly paler than the Hofbräu example. Moderate head and good condition. Sweet malt aromas, malty body with some hop bitterness and a chalky dry malty finish. The Munich oktoberfest beers seem all very similar.
