3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This brew seems to be true to the style, has some malt sweetness and is light on hops. The result is a somewhat pleasant drinkable beer with no real character of it's own.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 6, 2005 Aromas of bread and corn. A bit of a spicy marzen, which is nice. Light bodied but crisp and sharp. Some honey, hay, crisp pears and grains. Has a bit of a spoiled, sour twang, but it’s not too distracting, and really just is a defect of the bottle being slightly lightstruck.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
definite rich malt aroma. the appearance is dark golden with brilliant clarity and the head lasts for a decent amount of time. the flavor is run by malt. there is a lot of rich malt flavoring here. there is a hint of toastiness at the start and a very low hop spiciness is apparent with slight bittering to balance and keep the malt from getting too cloyingly sweet. very clean aftertaste. medium body and carbonation making this beer surprisingly light for all that malt. very easy drinking and pleasantly balanced beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Varies from bottle to bottle. Sometimes it has been flat, other times just right. When not flat it is ok balenced, more malty but has a beautiful color. I really like it.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2003 Excellent example of an Oktoberfest, kicks Lowenbru"s Oktoberfest in the arse.
Nice head, clinging almost to the bottom, nicely hopped with a pleasently smooth aftertaste - would be great with kraut. Lovely.

blech. i do *not* like this beer. i’m not really a fan of oktoberfest brews period, but this one particularly struck me as icky. not hoppy, not very full-bodied, malty, but missing that slight spice that i like in an oktoberfest brew.
