30.9.2014. Clear golden. Tastes a little sweet, grainy beer, slight butter. Not too sweet as some märzen. Still not my favourite.

Bottle, 500mL. Home. A pale yellow beer ; light hazy ; bubbly ; medium white head with a poor retention. Aroma of cereal, caramel (light). Light to medium sweet, light dry herbal. Light to medium body, thin silky texture, average carbonation, short sweet finish ; light warming background. Overall, OK drinkable german beer ; basic.

Copenhagen 1/11 2014. 50 cl can from Netto. Pours clear yellow with big white head which slowly settles. Malty aroma with notes of sourness. Medium carbonation. Standard pilsner taste. Nice balance between sweetness and bitterness with overweight of bitterness in aftertaste. Not very original - but solid.

Foffern (1360) - Bodø, NORWAY - JAN 31, 2015
Bottle at Piccadilly, Bodø. Pours a clear straw colour with a small, off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, hay and sweet corn. The flavour is similar with more malt and hay, and some alcohol. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A balanced and quite malty beer. Not very interesting though.

4oz on tap at the Lager House. Labeled explicitly on the menu as "Paulaner Octoberfest Weis’n" -- ABV listed as 5%. These guys do a lot of business with the distributor in question, so I suppose if any place in town is likely to have this beer, this place is more than others. Clear golden orange color.. Good thin off-white head, leaving good thicker lace. Very musty aroma... Bready, musty funky lageriness, touch of corn? Not very impressive, funky must is dominant. Lighter body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation, slick texture. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter, and a kind of rough bite in the finish. Nope, not impressive. I’d have been very disappointed to have ordered a pint. Not too much different from macro lagers. A touch of burnt popcorn that I’m used to getting from super-stale NA macro lagers. Was the keg from 2014?
