Ein Maß. From the can into the seidel. Finger of head on a cloudy medium straw colored body. Hay and barnyard smell, in the best way. Nice grain taste, low bitterness, little honey and smooth. Crisp texture with moderate carbonation. Clean finish. Nice flavor and something to drink by the liter.

Clear golden beer, medium white head with soapy retention. Grainy-malty nose with some corny notes, sweetness, grass, wet paper. Flavor is malty and grainy, finishes with a fairly pleasant, if nondescript, hop profile. Medium and pretty smooth mouthfeel. Very drinkable, but not really remarkable.

Bottle, 500ml. A clear golden beer with a big foamy white head. Aroma is of wheat and spices like clove. Taste is slightly bitter, especially at the end. Some carbonation and astringency. Light bodied. Very drinkable, so that makes it good for Oktoberfest. I can see myself drinking several liters of this. Yet nothing remarkable.

Bottle, 500ml. Clear golden with a frothy white head. Grainy, spicy aroma with hints of cereal, honey, spices. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and sweet, with a strong cereal and corn character and a mildly bitter herbal finish. Pleasant and very drinkable.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn has a thin-to-medium, white head, a hazy, bubbly, gold appearance, and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of pungent, full, rich, semi-sweet, yeasty, cracker, and the flavor is similar, with mellow and appropriate hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn finishes crisp, refreshing, and highly drinkable. RJT

30.9.2014. Clear golden. Tastes a little sweet, grainy beer, slight butter. Not too sweet as some märzen. Still not my favourite.
