kepano (239), Meudon, France Apr 11, 2006 The pour produced a simple but pleasant dark orange body topped of a fuzzy white head. Every aspect of this beer suggests a natural modesty, impervious to the aggressive sensations one may associate with Oktoberfest itself. In the nose, acacia honey, caramel and berries build a straightforward but enjoyable scent, corroborated on the tongue by a light flowery taste and slightly burnt flavors. The palate is somewhat watery but smooth and refreshing, and begins to build a stronger profile with warming. A satisfying brew fit for a warm afternoon or a session of heavy drinking!

A pretty decent example of the style, I like this beer, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get one, I do find it to be a goo deal better on draft then from a bottle. vtafro (212), , New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2009 Bottle. Was available at party today. Brown pour. Flavors of dark wheat, sugar, and nuts. Decent beer. jimmbo123 (18), Washington, USA Jun 16, 2009 Flavors are very mild. Overall this gives the impression of a what a basic beer should be. The blandness of the main stream beers is said to be an intentional marketing ploy - "to offend as few people as possible." I believe that this beer is the best I have ever tasted which is not in conflict with that. In other words, anyone who likes the main stream beers should love this one.
If you want a lot of flavor look elsewhere. Skidds (252), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2009 Poured amber in color with a creamy, off-white head that settle to a thin cover and left light lacing. The aroma was of caramel, spices, and a light roast. The flavor found chocolate and spices. Light body with a malty aftertaste. alexanderj (1966), San Diego, California, USA Jun 1, 2009 On tap; had this in Columbus. Color was a darker orange color. Aroma of sweet malt and bread. Flavor was solid, mostly dry with a bit of sweetness in the end. What you would want and expect from the style. Philweiss (2), Florida, USA does not count May 24, 2009 This was the beer that first got me into good beer. I picked it up because of the charming picture on the bottle, but fell in love with the amber color, slight nuttiness, and full mouthfeel. Years later, it’s not quite as amazing as I once though it was, but it holds up far better than some other beers that once impressed me. aaronbr (20), Stanford, California, USA May 13, 2009 Poured from a bottle. Dark copper hue. Smell is sweet and malty. Has a bready mouthfeel and tastes a little spicy. Finish has a bit of hops, but nothing spectacular. unclemike (760), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA May 13, 2009 Clear amber/copper color with a nice off-white head. Aroma is malty, with a sweet biscuity character and a little bit of spiciness. Taste is light and grainy, with sweet malt and a touch of black tea. This beer is absurdly easy to drink. It’s smooth and tasty, light but flavorful
