patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Nov 25, 2007 bottle - Pours amber with a medium sized head and a very malty aroma. As one would expect from the style, the flavor too is dominated by the rich malt. It’s medium bodied and finishes crisply with some slight bitterness. stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Nov 24, 2007 Clear red. Fresh hop beer aroma. Very beery taste. Like a regular heavy americna brew. Wouldn’t get it again but it wasn’t bad. RSRIZZO (1337), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 22, 2007 Had this beer on 11/06/2002. Aroma is a sweet malt scent. Color is light amber/brown with light carbonation and thin head. Taste is malty with an imported taste. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth turning crisp. Finish is a mild malt flavor backed by a imported yeast taste. chkngrrl (2), USA does not count Nov 21, 2007 I first had this on tap, which of course is much better than the bottle. It tastes just like horehound candy -- one of my favorites. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Nov 18, 2007 Pours a clear copper color with a decent sized white head. Nose is of sweet malts and earthy hops. Taste is mostly malts with a slight bitter finish. Some presence of grain as well. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied palate with a short finish that is drying. chadcs (76), Westminster, South Carolina, USA Nov 18, 2007 Got this one on tap in Helan, Ga during there octoberfest celebration.
