Sweet flavours, some bready qualities, only slightly drier towards the finish. Nothing special, but drinkable. browncow (5), Kentucky, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2007 this is a very good representation of an oktoberfest. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Bottle - 330ml. Limpid amber body with good carbonation and an average off-white frothy head. Its malty/hoppy aroma carries brown sugar and caramel hints. Taste is smooth and well balanced. I was expecting something a slightly more complex and robust. It ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Average Marzen. Ughsmash (3999), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Bottled. Poured clear medium ambery-orange with a short cap of well-retained off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet floral-dusted toasty caramel with faint lemon and grassy accents.. became VERY sweet as it warmed. The flavor was also mighty sweet.. toasty caramel at the core with mildly bitter herbal and grassy bitterness.. left a tacky caramel sweetness at the finish. Light-medium bodied and too sweet on the palate.. grainy across the middle.. tacky at the finish. This was drinkable, but definitely not great.

Pretty much the same aroma and appearance as Hofbräu and Spaten, but fuller malt flavor. Very tasty. (6,3,7,3,14=3.3) Rerate: 12oz bottle back home. Much darker with a more toasty malt character than hofbrau. I quastion if this is the same beer that they serve at the festival actually. Good looking dark amber with a nice head though. I can’t believe that I gave this a three for appearance when I had it out of a Maßkrug. Rune (2787), Tromsø, Norway

The fading foam left some lacing on the glass. Perfumed aroma of sweet grass. Malty sweetness in the direction of caramel and a light taste of fruit. Overall rather tasteless and too sweet. Disappointing (13.09.2007).
