Poured amber in color with a big, rocky, off-white head that diminished. Flavor of sweet malt and bubblegum. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malty finish. Overall, too sweet and malty for me. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Sep 25, 2007 Toasty caramel malt aroma. Pours copper with a beige head that went away through the course of the drink. Flavor was mostly sweet toasty caramel malt and a little brown sugar. with a crisp finish. The sweet malty flavor was a little bland to me though. It was good, but I did not enjoy it as much as some other Fest biers. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 25, 2007 Bottle. Large foamy white head that mostly lasted. Clear light sparkling body with a golden color. Good display of lacework. Very crispy and clear taste with notes of caramel, light fruit, nice smooth hoppy feel. Medium bodied with a light dry texture and an average carbonation. Well balanced light sweet and hint of bitterness. Sweet caramel like finish.
wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Sep 24, 2007 Pours an amber color with a full off-white head. Coats the glass nicely. Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Smooth sweet malt taste along with maple syrup and brown sugar. Very little hop bitterness; almost undetectable. A quality Marzen in the Munchen tradition. mpreston (10), Garland, Texas, USA Sep 23, 2007 Had way too many of these on Tap at Octoberfest in Addison, TX. Reddish amber color with white head. Not overly malty. Great Marzen ENT (2), USA does not count Sep 23, 2007 amber with little head, malty with smooth aftertaste smooth, not bitter. one of my favorites BOBANDDOUG (61), Belleville, Illinois, USA Sep 23, 2007 Pour s a nice, clear amber, with a fine head. Smells of malts, bread.
Taste of malt, with a hint of hops, and fruit, maybe apple? Malt not too overpowering, just nice and balanced.
Finished very clean, making me want more. As a fan of Marzens, I have had some that were overly "malty", and tough to finish. This is easy to drink.
