Aroma of roasted malt and caramel. Smooth sweet malt taste along with maple syrup and brown sugar. Very little hop bitterness; almost undetectable. A quality Marzen in the Munchen tradition. mpreston (10), Garland, Texas, USA

Reddish amber color with white head. Not overly malty. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Pour s a nice, clear amber, with a fine head. Smells of malts, bread.
Taste of malt, with a hint of hops, and fruit, maybe apple? Malt not too overpowering, just nice and balanced.
Finished very clean, making me want more. As a fan of Marzens, I have had some that were overly "malty", and tough to finish. This is easy to drink.

Unfortunately this was not a great example - was a little light-struck
Pours like a gorgeous O’Fest with that traditional reddish amber with a lasting off white head... very nice malt nose... a little muddled (??)
The taste is wonderfully complex malt richness with a restrained hop bite... the darn off taste makes it hard to appreciate this beer... I can almost pick out the smooth creamy feel but distracted by that slight metallic note
Overall: Rating past the off flavors seems a little lacking comparing to the other wonderful O’Fest like Ayinger or Hacker-Pschorr raymondwave (870), Finland
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Updated: Sep 30, 2007(Bottle from Alko). Slightly darker than a basic lager with frothy head. Malty, sweetish, full, slightly hoppy and all the way smooth. I need to have another one of these, but it seemed a bit flat and uninteresting compared to Ayinger Oktoberfest. Still good and dangerously easy drinking for such a high alc vol.. DownsouthGav (602), Greater London, England

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 22, 2007 I am a big fan of the Paulaner Hefe so I was really looking forward to this beer. Unfortunately, it was a thin watery brew that lacked any complexity. It was quite malty and had a slightly sweet then soapy finish. Not a great Oktoberfest.
