joeyp (30), Alabama, USA Oct 18, 2006 I got one of these in a trade. My bottle said it wais an Oktoberfest-MarzenIt was interesting, not nessasarily my top pick but it was defenetly worth a try.
Poured amber with a light white head.
fruity taste almost a little spicy.
festyzizzle (30), Brooklyn, New York, USA Oct 18, 2006 Amazing aroma on this one. Bread and malt. Maybe a hint of pear in there. Amber to red color, creamy head. Flavor was fantastic. This is what an octoberfest should be. Airlifter (116), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Oct 14, 2006 Dark honey color. Mildly sweet aroma. Malty and sweet to start, leading to a little metallic aftertaste. Starts too sweet, end too bitter. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Oct 13, 2006 I drink all these beers from glasses all the time, but the other night I wanted to drink something from the bottle. Glasses are a pain in the ass, you have to wash them, and everything. (theoretically, unless you always pour beer into them constantly). So I decided to drink this one from its container which, was a bottle. I need to start doing this more often with beers that are amber styles. Nothing special here, just a good bottle of beer, that I did not feel like getting a glass for. Actually I dont think I have a lager glass, im going to have to look into that one, though I probably wouldnt use it. Maybe ill start drinking imperial stouts from a bottle..
oh yeah, this is rate beer. uh yeah the beer was good. not bad for an o fest. it was brown, because thats all i saw from the bottle color. tasted good. almost 600 reviews to this beer already, read them if you want to read about the beer. read mine if you want to know my thoughts towards glass ware on the previous evening of october 12 2006. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Oct 13, 2006 Bottle (From Bitter Virtue). Bland malt and mild bitterness in the finish. Some alcohol is apparent. Finishes slightly sweet with some fruity alcohol. Lacks the clean refreshing crispness of lighter german lager or the lip smackingly full maltiness of the dark strong ones, a bit pointless really. CharlesDarwin (1824), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Oct 12, 2006 God I love those crisp, sweet clean fruity notes on an O-fest. This one is very nicely done. With a glowing head full of tangerine, horses, hay, and simmering lemons. Rich orange hue, with a foamy rock of off-white. On the tongue, the grains grow deep with a fusely burst of malty deliciousness. Maybe I like this style best, because of all style of beers, it still retains a good deal of that raw maltshake like malted flavor. Or malted milk balls. *Munich malt, is what I enjoy, I believe* It’s unique and speaks of the countryside in autumn, or the German alps, or a long icy lagering. Whatever it is, I love it and it’s delicious. And this style is tops and very classic. A sweet crisp bite of edging metallic noble hops provide delicate balance. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Oct 12, 2006 A Mes rate: Tap from the Bavarian Brewhouse in Old Street. Mellow and malty in the nose but pleasant enough. Golden body with a reasonable head and plenty lace. Initial malted biscuit flavour becomes breaded and then balances out with some hops for a bitter finish. Not bad TheGrandMaster (1846), Auckland, New Zealand Oct 10, 2006 Draught at Brew Wharf at London Bridge (London), a very carbonated pale yellow with a filmy white head. A subtle vinuous and wheat aroma with some fruit. Flavours are very corn-like, very clean palate though. I expect (hope) better in its home country.
