Some tropical fruits in syrup on the nose, with pale malts and some grass. Hayish, perfumed touch. Grainy, hayish, fruity, slightly syrupy nose with some bitterness. A bit sweetish maybe, finishing sweet and bitter. Would like more bitterness though. Overall it’s a bit on the sweet side, but it’s a drinkable beer indeed. 091010 MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 12, 2004 Rich amber colour with a thick and lasting off-white head. Lovely sweet fat malty aroma. Nice herbal hop aroma is also evident. Flavour is pretty good, sweet pale malt on the front, some caramel, before a flowery hop flavour and a long smooth finish. Easy to drink. There is a hint of metallic flavour on the finish. ¾ (5012), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Light bodied but crisp and sharp. Some honey, hay, crisp pears and grains. Has a bit of a spoiled, sour twang, but it’s not too distracting, and really just is a defect of the bottle being slightly lightstruck. Cornfield (4981), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Pours a dark golden amber color with an off-white head, frizzy at first, but goes away quickly. There’s kind of an earthy, malty aroma. Medium bodied. Sweet/sour taste. Not the usual Oktoberfest, but not a bad drink. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2003 Dark copper color with a moderate light tan head. Pure malt aroma with hints of toastiness. Initial malt sweetness with caramel, toastiness, and a slight earthy quality. Smooth and enjoyable. finish has a touch of bitterness and a touch of alcohol. While mass producing their beers has not done them well, still one of my favorite fall brews. jbrus (4916), Delft, Netherlands
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Bottle@Home. Faint grainy aroma. Pale yellow color, white head, good lace. Sweet, grainy, light bitter, little sticky and soft mouthfeel. This is too clean and too boring.
