Mar 29, 2008 The aroma isgrassy more than honey otherwise I would rate it higher for me. The color is a beautiful clear amber and with the exception of the quickly disappearing white foam looks great. Nice light refreshing taste. Light body and a smooth drink but a little nit of a bitter finish. I really enjoy these types of beers but I’m not sure if this was my favorite.

Jan 3, 2009 Updated: Jun 3, 2009Bottle pour into Stella glass. Pours a medium dark amber with white head that diminished relatively quick. Sweet aroma with grainy and caramel notes. Smooth, flavorful. Nice beer, enjoyed each sip. Update Feb 28 - have since enjoyed this beer several times and have taken a liking to it. I’ll purchase when available - Cheers!

Mar 26, 2007 Updated: Apr 4, 2007(bottle) Very pleasant and drinkable marzen. Smooth and malty, but not as good as others in Bavaria. Lacks the big flavor you want and in the bottle over here in the states its kind of too much on the stomach for session drinking, but I would certainly have it again.

Oct 30, 2009 Poured from bottle into mug.
Clear rich copper. Rapidly forming head but diminished to a fine line.
Smell of biscuit, toast, nuts, toffee and metallic bitterness.
Biscuit and toffee are most pronounced, with some cherry fruit and noble hop bitterness. Unlike many American versions, the sweetness is kept to a minimum.
Moderate carbonation with a clean smooth body. Mostly dry.
This is my prototypical Marzen, but I used to enjoy it more than I do now. Sometimes having an expanding palate sucks as it destroys old favorites. Even if no longer a favorite of mine, it is still very good nonetheless. Prost!
