However, I had this on tap and did not notice the ’bite’, in fact, there wasn’t much to it at all. Medium bodied, smooth with an initial bitterness and little aftertaste. turtlehead (111), Nottingham, New Hampshire, USA

Tasted good, but not my favorite Oktoberfest. Also - the bottle was labeled ’Ale.’ Since when is Oktoberfest an ale? Kaya161 (1129), San Diego, California, USA

It doesn’t have the malt complexity, nor the body that I expected. It almost tastes like a a more robust version of their Original Munich Lager. I guess this is what a traditional Oktoberfest is though. Although this is a great beer, I still prefer an American interpretation like Sam Adams. mikey (337), farmington, Utah, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Poured a lovely orange/light brown with a nice resilent off-white head. The nose had a slight toastiness, gentle caramelly malts and a nice nuttiness. The flavor started with mostly biscuity and caramel malts with a trace of roastiness and nuttiness. The finish was nicely crisp with Noble hops. I really enjoyed how this beer was hopped, just enough to counter the sweetness and not a smidge more. This beer is a really nice marzen, I think it could stand to be a little fuller in the mouth though. jayme9874 (756), Hamburg, New York, USA

Deep nose of caramel like makt, hops are evident...noble and hallertau’s? Almost creamy, medium bodied, toasted caramel flavor, nice hop spiciness, alcohol pokes through a bit which adds character IMO. Beloved Beer (278), California, USA
