Very nice brownish golden color with just the right amount of head. This quickly disappears and leaves just a thin ring. I downgraded it a bit on palate. It leaves a hint of sting as an aftertaste. But overall what a nice beer! Each sip delivered something new and interesting. A joy to taste. brewbandit (312), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2002 A lowly carbonation level robs this otherwise nice looking brew of the aromas it deserves. A good maltiness but I feel a bit more hop is deserved. Still, a good martzen. AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA

Not quite as much head, and less aroma, but pretty color, and i little more hop bite at the end, which i liked. No reason not to have both. RaginCajun (284), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2002 Has a nice amber color and a sweet smell. Taste is fairly standard of the German Oktoberfests with malt and a slightly bitter finish. Overall, not a bad beer that I would get again. baobubba (451), Corvallis, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 8, 2002 Typical Octoberfest. Aroma is of hay and a little doughy yeast? Starts sweet and fininshes slightly bitter and sweet. The flavor doesn’t linger long. The head was thin and also did not last long. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany
