From old backlog. Dark brown colour with medium head. Aroma is caramel. Flavour is caramel, malt.

Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, dark orange appearance with a nice, light brown head. Quite toasty, somewhat herbal/woody, lightly nutty, mild caramel malty aroma. Nutty, mild toffee, grassy, herbal, toasty malty flavor. Pretty decent.

Lovely reddish brown colour with a white head. Caramel malt aroma. Very rich caramel flavour.

Good reddish brown appearance. Toasted malt and nut flavor. It has a good head on it. Slight citrus smell.

At Paulaner am Dom Frankfurt. Smooth easy drinking dunkel. A bit of a butter taste in with the roasted flavor. Serving: Tap

Die Schaumkrone hält einigermaßen gut, farblich ist es kräftig braun, sieht gut aus! Geschmacklich leicht herb, malzig, ansonsten recht mild. Fazit: Hatte mehr erwartet => Enttäuschend! Test vom 25.4.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,8,7,7,10,7 - 7,70

Tap at the Paulaner im Spreebogen. Deep dark chestnut with ruby highlights and a soapy beige head. Beautifully malty taste, rolling and tumbling malt body, some roast and lots of red berry, some earth and chocolate around the edges, maybe some toffee. Body is light but malty and interesting, with receding sweetness and waxing bitterness in the aftertaste. A winner, I’m sad that it took me to long to find it, and in Berlin of all places.

At Paulaner Im Tal, Munich. Pours chestnut with a nice head and some bubbles. The nose has malt and a hint of chocolate biscuits. The taste is of biscuits and there is a slight toffee note. The palate is medium in structure and texture with a clean finish. Overall, a good beer.

(Flasche) Die Farbe ist ein in Richtung Coke gehendes Braun, aber mit einem sehr starken blutrotem(venös) Stich. Das Aroma ist sehr süß, honigartig und stark, was aber alle anderen Gerüche evtl. überdeckt. Der Geschmack ist überraschend schlank mit einer schnellen, sich steigernden Röstnote. Im Hintergrund ist eine leichte Süße, die als gutes Fundament dient. Bittere ist nur im Abgang und dann recht breit und leicht adstringirend vorhanden. Alles in allem ist es ein sehr süffiges Dunkles.

Pours a dark Brown glass. Has an aroma of coffee and dark chocolat with à rather bitter taste, not as sweet as other Paulaner beers and that was a little let down.
