dj (521) - Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2008
Bottle, 500ml. A clear brown colour with a good head. A malty aroma. Taste is burnt malt (tastes very much like raw, dark malted barley) with a slight underlying hoppiness which adds a hint of citrus to lighten the brew up a little. Light carbonation. Doesn’t seem much like a dunkel, but a nice brew anyhow.

Nice clear caramel color with small pale head. Very nice round aroma of sweet roasted malt, hazelnuts, caramel and sweet chocolate. Smooth mouth feel with a litle to high carbonation. Sweet, round and nutty finish. Overall: very nice. Super clean with nice sweet notes.

On tap at Paulaner Brewery; good solid dunkel. Creamy and smooth, subtle toffee notes. Similar to the Dinkel Acker Dunkel.
