When the Original Münchner was brewed for the first time at the end of the 19th Century, it was a spectacular success. With its hoppy taste, subtle, light and elegant, it becomes ever popular. Today the Paulaner Original Münchner is the best sold Münchner Hellbier (lager beer) in the world and Paulaner's No. 1 export beer in over 30 countries with its wonderfully subtle, spicy, naturally hearty taste.

Tall can with a big thanks to Alex for bringing this over for me. Pours out a crisp pale golden topped with a long lasting white head. Nose is honey sweetness grass and some bread. Taste is more of the pleasant honey notes and a nice touch of hops.

Fat på Sue Ellen. Blek gyllengul vätska. Luktar malt och vatten typ. Smakar inte mycket. Händer ingenting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from E.Leclerc, Riberac. Poured a clear, mid-golden colour, with a dense white head. Aroma of lager malt, honey and straw. Some gentle grassy hop flavours, with grain and brown sugar. Finish was bread, hay and light, bitter hops.

De una botella de 500ml. Muy pálida para mi gusto. Ligero sabor a Malta y ligero aroma a lúpulo. Cerveza aburrida, esperaba más. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from the tap at Paulaner am Dom (Frankfurt). Pale, yellow lager with white head. Quite weak and watery with little taste. Disappointed.

Elmegy....

The best known Münchener helles, since the early 20th century. Light yellowish white, regular, dense but eventually opening foam, light golden blonde colour, clear. Soft and pure malt sweetness in the nose, chamomille, honey, biscuit, flowery hops. Clean and crisp malt taste, light sweetness, tingling like mineral water, the good quality of the brewing water is clear and plays an important role in lagers like this; elegant, mild spicy hop bitterishness in the finish with a sourish touch. Well-made, appetizing and thirst-quenching, unambitious like any good Helles should be. Exemplary for its style.

Bottle shared at the RBESG ’14, Grander Tasting @ Moncada, 09/08/14. Clear pale golden with moderately appointed off white spotting. Nose is pale malts, cereals, straw, grain, light caramel. Taste comprises straw, light paper effect, touch of bread, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, clean close. Decent enough helles.
