When the Original Münchner was brewed for the first time at the end of the 19th Century, it was a spectacular success. With its hoppy taste, subtle, light and elegant, it becomes ever popular. Today the Paulaner Original Münchner is the best sold Münchner Hellbier (lager beer) in the world and Paulaner's No. 1 export beer in over 30 countries with its wonderfully subtle, spicy, naturally hearty taste.

Um, bland. Nothing to report on this lager, except it was drinkable, but not impressionable. I was a bit perplexed by the lack of taste after looking at such a nice labelled bottle. Obviously looks can be deceiving especially when it comes to beer bottles and labels. A very unimpressionable lager.

Cerveja típica de Munique, com fortes sabores dos maltes em destaque. Muito bom drinkability. Coloração clara, transparente e boa formação de espuma.

Bottle at Tom’s. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of grass, lemon, metal and a faint peppery spice. Flavour has exactly the same qualities as the aroma. Metallic bitterness. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Biting fizz. Crisp and peppery.

Bottle - Pours clear golden with a big foamy white head. Nose is light honeyed malt, slight floral hopping, mineral, and a bit of corniness. Taste is light and grainy, with a bit of mineral and metal, corny grain, and a grainy, lightly floral hop finish. Pretty jacked-up carbonation and a thin, slightly slick body. Decent stuff, and this bottle said best by 10/14, so I think it was pretty fresh. A bit of a disappointment though, as it wasn’t quite as crisp and hoppy as I’d hoped.
