Malt all the way for both nose and taste. Very nice amber color with a thin bubbly off-white head. Some very subtle hints of toffee in the oily aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 500ml bottle poured in a Weizen glass. A: Pours a clear golden yellow color forming a big white creamy bubbled head. Good retention. A small layer remains for a moment and many lacings are formed and left around S: Very grainy in the nose. Plenty of Lager yeasts which makes it really bready too. Notes of flowery hops T: A simple Lager which is, at the same time, extremely well done. Slightly sweet upfront. Lots of grains. Really bready. I little bit metallic. Mild but nice hops bitterness M: Light body and good carbonation. Excellent grainy aftertaste O: Excellent drinkability. A perfect German session Lager. Paulaner quality. Prost! On draft for Octoberfest 2014 with Kelly. Light brown with off white head and lacing. Warm sweet fresh baked bread with some spice in the background... Nice one.

Poured from 330 ml bottle. Lightly hazy, medium amber with an off-white head and a decent amount of fine lacing. Aroma of caramel, bread and a little nuttiness. Taste of toasted malt, caramel, plums and raisins. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I actually meant to rate the Oktoberfest Weisn brew which is much more enjoyable than this plain brew. The marzen variety is akin to drinking water. However, the Weisn variety is a pretty enjoyable beer.

Pours a clear copper with a thin head. Malty aroma with some yeastiness. Flavor is heavy in the malts as expected and a bit creamy as well. Definitely an easy drinker and another solid offering from paulaner.

Clear, brownish-amber pour with an off-white head. The aroma is a little nutty with some faint caramel. It has a light body with watery texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet with a quick, lightly flavored finish.

Appearance is deep amber/light brown, clear, with ruby highlights and a medium white foam cap. Aroma is all bready and caramel malt, with no noticeable hop or yeast character. Taste is bready, toasty, and rich caramel with light plum and raisin character. High mineral content of the water creates a slight tang and sharper bitterness, which balances the rich malt. Mouthfeel is medium with a crisp carbonation. Finishes with a bready note on the tinge that lingers longer than the hop bitterness.

Very very good Oktoberfest beer. I first had it in Dallas with some sausages and sauerkraut. Match made in heaven
