11.2 ounce bottle, best before 05/16, labeled as Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen. Served in a mug, the beer pours a clear orange/copper color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like bready/grainy malt, toffee, herbal/spicy hops, toffee and some general fruitiness. For the most part I think the taste is just like the aroma, but there’s also a bit of nuttiness noticeable. Seemed more sweeter and maltier than I expected, but in a good way. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s slick and smooth with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was good, I know I’d like to pick this one up again as it’s an enjoyable Märzen/Oktoberfest brew!

11.2 oz. bottle. Pour is amber/dark copper with quickly diminishing off white head. Aroma was clean, toasted malts and sweetness. Taste was very slightly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Golden brown in color with a white head that leaves faint lacing. Aroma of biscuits and fresh bread. Taste is toasted malt and grains; faint caramel. Mouth feel is light and relatively crisp. A solid Märzen.

One of the best original Oktoberfest beers made by the OG breweries. Malty, bready, sweet. Delicious. If you like this try some Salvator. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rather dark brown for style; clear with a bone head that has medium duration and lacing (from 2012 notes in Bavaria). Aroma; too faint, featuring (as expected) more malt than hops. T: more hops in the flavor such that they are on par with the malts, and the finish is mildly hoppy and bitter. Clean. M: medium carbonation; thin-medium body. O: very drinkable session beer. Relatively high ABV is well hidden.

BBD 05/16. Clear medium amber pour with a hint of garnet. Outstanding head volume and lacing, normal retention. Light nose of grainy biscuit, caramel and a hint of hops. Heavy light body with hints of creaminess over a smooth texture. Superb carbonation with a nice burst of effervescence in the middle and a rousing finely bubbled prickly finish. The flavor profile is almost outstanding. It lacks complexity and tends to be rather two dimensional - toasted grains and light hops. Boost the sweetness a bit and it becomes outstanding. It begins with toasted malt, more cracker than biscuit. Consequently, very little sweetness is provided for contrast and balance. The middle delivers a very mild bitterness over a light herbal hop flavor. The tail end of the finish provides a very subtle hint of caramel...but you REALLY have to look for it.
