My opinion this is an average Oktoberfest. Not an expert by any means but using Ayinger Oktoberfest as a gold standard, this comes up a few steps behind. Similar to Ayingers effort in balance but a tad sweeter and bitter, but not overwhelmingly. What it lacks is depth. Could be lost in shipping the bottle from Germany, sure, but Ayinger ships from Germany too and still has great depth. Very little to appreciate after you swallow, not much left to linger on the palate. A little flat. Average for the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

ryecatcher (717) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear, golden amber, small whitish head that dissipates quickly and no lacing to speak of. Nose is malt, toffee, apple cider, straw. Mouth is medium bodied, malt forward, toasty, hints of caramel, bread, apricots, fall leaves and a twinge of vanilla at the finish, then some underlying hops bitterness. Nice Märzen. Prost!

phaleslu (6204) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Draft at the Moerlein Lager House tent for Oktoberfest Zinzinnati. Pours a semi-cloudy copper with a small but lasting creamy off-white head. Aroma is on the lighter side; toast, caramel, leaves, and straw. Flavor of caramel, toast, bread, straw, and nuts. Light-medium bodied, with a mouthfeel that is simultaneously toasty and bready, and moderate carbonation. Gets the job done.

Light aroma of malt and yeast. Dark amber and clear with a small diminishing head and minimal lacing. Moderately bitter on the tongue. The body is medium with a creamy texture and average carbonation. This is a pleasant beer with a comfortable feeling when you drink it.
