Poured from 330 ml bottle. Lightly hazy, medium amber with an off-white head and a decent amount of fine lacing. Aroma of caramel, bread and a little nuttiness. Taste of toasted malt, caramel, plums and raisins. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I actually meant to rate the Oktoberfest Weisn brew which is much more enjoyable than this plain brew. The marzen variety is akin to drinking water. However, the Weisn variety is a pretty enjoyable beer.

Pours a clear copper with a thin head. Malty aroma with some yeastiness. Flavor is heavy in the malts as expected and a bit creamy as well. Definitely an easy drinker and another solid offering from paulaner.

Clear, brownish-amber pour with an off-white head. The aroma is a little nutty with some faint caramel. It has a light body with watery texture and average carbonation. The taste is sweet with a quick, lightly flavored finish.

Appearance is deep amber/light brown, clear, with ruby highlights and a medium white foam cap. Aroma is all bready and caramel malt, with no noticeable hop or yeast character. Taste is bready, toasty, and rich caramel with light plum and raisin character. High mineral content of the water creates a slight tang and sharper bitterness, which balances the rich malt. Mouthfeel is medium with a crisp carbonation. Finishes with a bready note on the tinge that lingers longer than the hop bitterness.

Very very good Oktoberfest beer. I first had it in Dallas with some sausages and sauerkraut. Match made in heaven

Bottle from Trevor. Pours brown with tan hues, rimming white head. Caramel and corn nose, slight grass. Lots of caramel and brown sugar, little hop flavor, but enough to balance. Nice.

Orange pour from draft at old town bar in New York. Sweet Carmel malty flavor. Standard octoberfest. Not great and not bad.

Transfer from BA review on 9-20-13- Served on tap in a 1 L stein Appearance – The beer is served a deep amber-reddish color with a small fizzy white head. The head has a decent retention however, slowly fading over time to leave a very light level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is rather sweet overall with a decently strong caramel and buttery toffee smell. Mixed with these aromas are a good deal of a bready smells with notes of toasted malt and some spice aromas of nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste –The taste begins with a sweet caramel and lightly toasted malt flavor. As the flavor moves forward some notes of lighter fruits and some nut comes to the tongue. The sweet taste intensifies in caramel flavor and is complemented by some toffee. Spice flavors of some cinnamon and nutmeg come to the tongue more toward the end and are joined by a lighter hop taste of some citrus and herb and an increase in the roasted malt flavor, leaving a pleasant and smooth sweet and lightly roasted flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side as well. Both are fitting for the style making for a nice easy drinking but well supported Oktoberfest. Overall – A rather enjoyable and tasty Oktoberfest with a nice sweet and decently roasted taste. Paulaner is a classic brewery for a reason; they make good stuff.

Great German beer. Reminds me of my time stationed in Germany. About a fingers worth of head. Great taste and beautiful looking beer.
