Bottled. Pours pale amber with lacy white head. Dusty, malty aroma, not unlike dry rice. Flavor is a nice balance of mellow, slightly sweet malt and some mild hop bitterness. Finish is a little dry and bitter, but abrupt. Thin, smooth mouthfeel. Very little alcohol warmth. Crisp, refreshing, and simple autumn beer.

Drank from the bottle. Not much of an aroma, but I don’t know if the bottle affected that. Flavor is sweet caramel malt. Really tasty.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2014 Malty golden fall beer with a gentle sweetness and mild bitterness. One of the prettiest looking beers out there.

From 2 11.2 oz bottles, poured into a dimpled mug; o, my goodness gracious, a most drinkable beer, this. Prost!!! Forgot to mention the nifty label on the bottle. A great pic of beautiful bier garden maidens, marching (no doubt towards the thirsty hordes) with steins, money bags and smiles. Again, Prost!!!

12 oz bottle into a mug. Pours a dark clear amber, with a moderate head which quickly fades into a disc on the surface. Nose is dark malt and caramel, with bread notes. Taste follows the nose, and is predominantly of medium roast malt with a touch of sweetness. the finish is short, with a hint of hop astringency. A very enjoyable session Oktoberfest.

Dark gold to copper pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is is loaded with toast, cereal and bread, along with some floral and light spicy hops. Flavor is very cereal heavy up front, then some biscuit, a little caramel, and floral and planty hops. Light to medium body, medium carbonation and neutral to slightly chewy feel.

2006: copied from BA. These modern Marzens, well, they are not the same as the old ones, are they? 20 Brown .5 litre bottles, best before mid 07. No real aroma from my bottles. A good pilsner maybe, a good marzen, no. A pleaseant enough beer, but why are all the main Munich brewers numbing down their Marzen beers? It couldn’t be anything to do with cost and time could it? Surely not!

The body has a deep coppery amber color with very good clarity. On top sits a tall light beige head. It is light, fluffy and fades out quickly leaving only a little spotty lacing at the top of the glass. Its aroma is full of sweet bready, toasted and roasted malts with a touch of nutty character, caramel candy and noble hops. There is also a very slight hint of mineral like or hard water like aroma. The flavor is much the same as the aroma. It has loads of sweet malty goodness with nice nutty and roasted character. Its sweetness fades towards the finish and leafy/mineral like hop favors come in and add a nice balance of flavor and bitterness. It finishes crisp and clean and has a nice solid medium body which is extremely drinkable. The carbonation is soft which make for a very smooth texture.
