3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Typical Oktoberfest beer appearance. As with most Oktoberfest beers, aroma and flavor resemble that of a doppelbock but lighter. In fact, this stuff is much less sweet and malty than the typical Oktoberfest beer (such as Spaten). Quite hoppy and pleasant.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Eastgate OH --- Clear amber brown with a 1" beige head, waves of lace. Aroma of caramel malt. Taste is malt with caramel that glides into a carbonated swallow with a minimum of growth, then very light hops assure balance. Quite simple, but one of those brews I can enjoy as a go-to (no hop) beer any day of the week.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
0.4 tap. Red-brown white head, disappears fast. Aroma caramel candy, mats, water. Taste caramel-water. Viewing the ratings maybe I got a bad one. But I don’t have anything to add. Probably have to try again!

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Red-brown-orange color; honey colored. Not a lot of carbonation but a finer of decent head. I like the color.
Aroma is corn syrup; a sugary taffy-pull in the nose.
The flavor is sugary sweetness, more corn syrup. A hint of sugary molasses.
Very buttery smooth feel. This one isn’t really my jam; it’s what you think of when you think of a saccharine German lager.

Bottle gifted by a buddy with too much beer. Thanks Jim. The best beer is free beer, especially if I feel like rating a couple, and it’s unrated to me. Totally drinkable. Light caramel and maybe even to a bit of toffee, it’s so smooth and drinkable. This is not the beer to tell Junior to drink so he hates beer for a few more beers. Junior will say "Thank you Sir, may I have another. Beats a Bud any day.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear medium copper with a half finger white head. While the lacing is not really there, head retention is good.
Aroma has caramel and toast along with a healthy shot of wet glass. Very true to the style.
The flavor doubles down on the attributes in the aroma with a very nice biscuity malt character and awesome grassy hop flavors. Moderate bitterness balances out the malty sweetness and gives this great drinkability.
Overall, one of the better German Marzens available in the U.S. One of the standards of the style.

Nice mellow Marzen. A hint of banana provides a sort of ’sheen’ to the dry malt flavor.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Copper colored brew that started with head but within seconds it fell down to a lace. Like a soda would do. Smells of roasted malt and tastes of roasted malt. Perfectly balanced to make it very chuggable. If I had a keg of this you could bet I would pull out my great big dimpled mug and fill it full many times till I was puking or falling down or both. Have been doing some comparisons on Oktoberfest brews this month and this is my #2 pick. Nice thing that the price tag is not over the top for an import.
