Pours a golden amber color, with a thin white head. Has the typical maltiness and sweetness of a a Marzen. Smooth, well blended, and quite drinkable. Thumbs up.

Amber with white head. Aroma and taste are sweet malt. Bready really. A lettle creamy on the tongue. Good. Not great.

Bottle. One of the best widely available Marzens on the market. Nice and bready.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen is true to style and a solid beer. Faint aroma of slightly sweet malt. Appearance is the expected amber-red with a thin head. Taste is slightly sweet and malt that fades fast on the palate. A decent example of this classic German style from a German brewery that’s been around awhile.

Tap. Bubbly, dark redish amber color. Firm yellowish head crowns the mug. Sweet, malty, yeast, toffee in aroma. Malty, creamy, toffee, mildly grainy notes in flavor. Nice brew.

330 ml bottle. Pours an amber/copper color and clear with a thick white head that slowly settles. Smells like malts, bread, nuts, and herbs. Medium body, with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Pretty smooth and kind of creamy. Flavor is mostly malty, grains, caramel and biscuits. Light hop bitterness with a clean finish. It was alright.

Aroma of very bready spiced pumpernickel, nuts and toffee. Appearance is amber/copper with slightly sticky bone head. Flavor is sweet, of course, but lends a healthy amount of spicy snappiness; the finish is dry and nutty. Palate is medium, creamy and very soft. A pleasure to drink.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a moderate white head. Nose is awfully malty, much like the taste. It is what it is. Meh.

Nice straw yellow color. Clear with one finger of head that dissipates to a nice top. Smells light and earthy with hints of malt. Taste is somewhat floral or grassy but light also. Malty with a hint of bitterness at the end. Light in mouth with good carbonation. Easy drinking and a nice compromise for any type of beer drinker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

#144 Im Salvator zu Bonn aus dem Faß genossen, ist dieses Märzen geradezu beeindruckend geraten: Kräftig-würzig und malzbetont obendrein, herrlicher Trinkstoff! Test vom 2.5.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 12,12,13,12,-,12 - 12,15

500mL bottle purchased at BevMo in Vacaville. Best by 01/13. The aroma is fairly straight-forward for the style with minerally notes, light metals, a little sweet caramel character, as well as some spicy noble hops. Transparent golden-copper body present with a medium, strong whitish head. Starts almost tart, and a little astringent. Weird. A little sweetness with hints of toffee and nuts come through in the middle. Finishes with a lingering grassy, lighly bitter hoppiness. Pretty good, albeit a different take on what I think of the style.
