3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted from 12oz bottle into nucleated pint glass. It poured a crystal-clear golden color with large, sudsy, white foam, somewhat short-lived but left lots of lace. A near-perfect pilsner. Mild aromas and flavors; very subtly and delicately balanced, no flaws. Pils malt, freshly-cut grass, husks, vaguely reminiscent of hominy and puffed grain, marshmallows, distant noble hops, . Faint black pepper and bubble gum yeast phenols. Slightly hard mineral water. Light body, strong carbonation, crisp snap, finished dry. American pale lagers only hint at this exquisitely crafted beer. Just plain drinkable and delicious.

This brewery is more known in my home country for the wheat beers, so I was curious to find out how well they’re pilsners might taste. I was not dissapointed nor rejoiced. A pretty average pilsner that will work well as a thirst quencher.

On draught. Very clear, golden. Very smooth and crisp with the classic pils dry finish with just a hint of hops. A good example of a pilsner.

On tap at Paulaner Budapest. Soft grass, toast, and malts on the nose. Pretty basic but clean yellow lager with a nice pinky finger of head that sticks around. Silky malt body with a very very slowly appearing hop bitterness that lingers nicely. Pretty simple yet classic German style pils.

Defenetly good Pilsener.
Not very big amount of foam and carbonation.
Smell without any additional subsmells as need to be.
Slight taste without originality but with a feeling of drinking good beer.
Palate appears in few seconds and repeata original taste.

In my point of view, it is a classical pils, drinking this beer in a Paulaner restaurant in Nürnenberg. The colour is a yellow lager and the carbonation is average. The hop is of course present and it is well balanced between the hop and the cereal.
