COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Paulaner Salvator with its strong, typically malty taste is the original Paulaner. The bottom-fermented Doppelbock-Bier unites the finest hops and dark barley malt. The Paulaner monks served Salvator as a replacement for food at Lent. Their most famous brewer was Brother Barnabas, who was the head of the Paulaner monastery brewery starting from 1773. Its original recipe is today almost the same as it was in Barnabas' time. In order to protect the original recipe, Paulaner had the trade mark "Salvator" patented in 1896.

Pours a dark amber color with a small white head that dissipates into a ring. Very nice aromas of caramel, toasted malt and dark fruit. Flavors much of the same. Creamy mouthfeel with a sweet finish but it could have been a bit fuller. A good beer from a good brewery.

Apeearance was cloudy caramel with 1 finger head that disppears quickly with no lacing. Aroma was sweet figs, chocolate, biscuity, butterscotch, nutty thing of beauty. Taste was chocolaty herbal delight with slight alcohol. Mouthfeel was creamy light carbonation chewy-like full body with a long dryish finsih.Mmmmmmmm...

Draught. Amber color, slightly cloudy. Medium-sized creamy head. Very matly sweet aroma with raisins and dates. Fruity and alcoholic flavor is sweet and straightforward. Oily, slick and alcoholic palate. Full bodied.

On tap at Pilsener Haus. Pours a clear ruby with a touch of haze under a thin beige head. Sweet malt, cherry and a touch of dark fruit. Medium bodied, sweet malt, toast. Sweet malt, long toast and a touch of fruity plum. Nice.

+/- bittere nasmaak - beetje waterig + eerste slok vol, daarna word hij een beetje scherp en brand licht in de mond

Dominantly malty lager but not overly sweet. Some good subtle, complex flavors; a great beer and a favorite lager.

very bland beer... red liquid, no head... some banana in the aroma, some cheap malts... far to sweet, medium long bitter but pukish finish... not drinking this again
